The soul is who you are. It is your personality influenced by the beliefs you have accepted through experience or faith, the results of decisions you have made, and the path you have chosen to walk throughout your life. The mind and heart work together in the soul to reason intelligently using knowledge and feeling. At death the soul, which contains the breath of life, leaves the body and rests until the final judgement. The soul is judged by the author and creator of life.

Each individual is made up of 3 parts:
The Spirit (or Soul), The Mind and The Body.
The spirit or soul is what you ARE. It is in fact seperable from the body and the mind.
The soul or spirit is not a thing, like your mind or body, it is in fact the creator of things. In other words, You are your own immortal soul.

soul is part from the soul of God
[29] "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him."
Quran 15:29
-the soul is a secret, that only God knows about it.
[85] And they ask you (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)) concerning the Rûh (the Spirit); Say: "The Rûh (the Spirit): it is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little."
Quran 17:85

The word translated soul is ne'phesh in Hebrew and psyke in Greek. They both refer to the living being themselves, not an immortal spirit inside the creature. In the Bible, animals are spoken of as being souls, as are people.
"And the man came to BE a living soul." (Genesis 2:7) It doesn't say he came to have a living soul... The Bible also says "The soul that is sinning, it itself will die." (Ezekiel 18:4) It doesn't say that the soul that is sinning will depart to some other plane of existence or go to heaven or hell. It says it will die.

I think many times especially scripturally, "soul" and "person" are interchanged, to a degree, because seeing a part of a person as being Immortal in nature, might lead one to follow them as God, which would be inappropriate.
now my answr to the question...
I am my Soul. I, a Soul, occupy this husk, in order to ease interaction with the physical world.

The soul in my humble opinion, is the part of us that goes to heaven - or whatever you believe - when we die.
The physical body and soul are two different entities but fused together at birth. When the body dies, the soul lives on.
The soul is our love, personality and memories.
The body is what our soul travels around in until it breaks (dies)

At birth, the soul=a blank piece of slate..at death, the slate is removed but the writing that has been accumulated over a lifetime=the soul.

It is the heart of who I am, and who I hope to be, the touch of the Goddess, the inspiration to be all that I am capable of being, and the joy that comes from striving to achieve that. My soul is the part of me that is the spark that connects me to the Divine, and is untouchable by any other.

Soul is what God(Allah) gave to us put it in our body and make it ours..He made you own it to test you if you will use it in right way or in wrong way...then He will make the angel of death take it from you...judge you about what you did and then go to heaven enshaa' allah or to hell...athe whole story it is something created by Allah owened by him as we are owned by him and will be back to him again...i wish that was clear.
