I have noticed that many who do not receive the answer they expect write cutting comments to those who interpret the question differently than they intended when they wrote it.

The elephant is described differently by each blind man standing in different areas around him. Might be a tail. Might be a trunk or a side, or an ear. It is still an elepant.

Just getting tired of rude people.

If the world was destroyed by a flood why do we have intact ice caps? Ice floats in water. If the earth were covered in water the ice would have been carried off and crumbled and/or melted. These ice sheets show hundreds of thousands of yearly layers so they can`t have grown back. I know there will be answers along the lines of 'only a local area was flooded' but if god knew this to be the case, why get Noah to put two of each animal on the ark? The animals would have survived in areas not affected by the flood.

How did Noah build a boat made of wood, about the same size as the titanic? Gen 6:14,15 No wooden boat has ever even approached this size and found to be practical, in fact the closesed mankind has ever come to this size in a wooden vessel was the USS Wyoming in 1859, it was about half the size of the ark and still re-enforced with iron straps, it took on so much water due to buckling it had to hug the coast and be consantly pumped, how was the ark able to weather a storm?

Is it ok to ask a question, about the Bible, about a single verse, even if that question is asked 50 times, trying to get an answer that makes sense.

Is that such a bad thing? Do you think the Bible and its defenders would permit the person to ask the question, trying to understand.

Is that ok?

Did you know the "church" used to say that the solar system was geocentric, and based it on the Bible.

I used to ask questions about this on yahoo answers, you know why, cause I was confused by those verses.

Someone, bless her Christian heart, said Sean, those passages are misinterpreted, the verses refer to the Earth being the center of God's universe, and not the center of the physical solar system.

Now, is it ok for me to ask questions, as I did on that topic, probably 50 times, looking for an answer that made sense.

Is it ok if I ask about the word abomination 50 times, trying to make sense of it, because its used in Lev 18:22 to talk about gay sex, and again in Lev 11:9-12 about shrimp. Is it ok if I try and understand the use of the word, why GOd thinks shrimp is as bad as gay sex?

Why does Jesus call the Canaanite woman a little dog in Matthew 15. I ask, cause heres another quote from another part of the bible, in Revelation 22:15 it says dogs don't get into heaven.

Now, I know of course that the use of the word dog in Revelation means male prostitute, and I of course know that Jesus was "testing the faith" of the woman,

Do you know how I "know" these things, and not just a plain reading of it,

cause I asked the question on yahoo answers, and a Christian gave me a good interpretation that made sense.

And from moments like that, came understanding.

Now, if I don't understand something, is it ok for me to ask about it, say why is child slavery permissible in Leviticus 25:45?

Is it ok to ask a question about the Bible as many times as it takes in as many ways for it to make sense to the questioner?

FINGER PRINTS
"Their skins will bear witness against them as to what they have been doing" (41:21)
The finger prints system at borders, criminal investigation cells and immigration centres prove the fulfillment of this Quranic prophecy.
GENETIC ENGINEERING
"They will alter Allah's creation." (4:120)
The holy Quran has prophesied the plastic surgery, genetic engineering and cloning in this short and concise sentence.
AIR TRAFFIC SYSTEM
"And by the heaven full of tracks" (51:8)
While prophesying about modern transport systems, Quran also foretold the air-traffic system which is an essential part of aviation. A person living in desert 1400 years ago cannot talk about such advance technologies unless revealed to him by God Almighty.
BOOKS PUBLISHED AND SPREAD
"And when books are spread abroad." (81:11)
The invention of printing press and publication houses and consequently spread of books every where is one of the marvellous prophecies of AL Quran made in the dark ages of ignorance

I do this all of the time, and I don't see even a modest amount of the hate this guy does. Is all of that hate a "moral" that you adhere to?

None of us agree with pedophilia, what he is trying to get across is, If you claim the Bible to be representative of all of your morality, and it says nothing deragatory about this subject, how can you claim your stance as moral?
Wow, you people...

These feelings come at the oddest of moments. I have even been awakened by someone calling my name when i am all alone at home. It doesnt happen very often, its very seldom as a matter of fact but it still makes me wonder. Serious answers only please, I already know how stupid this sounds.

Christians ask Atheists, why is murder wrong. Our response from what I have read 99 times out of 100 is cause murder is wrong and society agrees.

I ask why does the Bible not say pediophilia is wrong, and the response is (outside of the stuff about "oh jim you need to stop shaking peoples faith) - is primarily that society thinks its wrong and agrees its wrong. The part about Romans 1:28, you are putting words there that aren't there.

Why the double standard?

Why are Atheists the "bad guy" for agreeing that some things like murder and pediophilia are wrong, simply based on the common sense notion that they are wrong?

The way I understand it, the term "pagan" was first used by early Christians to describe any member of a religion not their own. It described any "cult" or it's member as being opposed to Christ. By using this term for yourselves are declaring that your opposition to Christianity? When I describe myself as a Christian, I am not saying I am opposed to other faiths, only that I follow the religion of Christ. Are you a "Pagan" only because you oppose Christianity or do you oppose other faiths as well? Would it not be more true to call yourselves Wiccan, Celtic, Druid, etc? Other faiths that have been called pagan, Hindu, Buddist, etc, do not refer to themselves as pagan. They seem to have faith in their religion as it stands not just how it might seem to stand in relation to Christianity.
