do you have freecycle where you live? Its a yahoo group where people give things away, things they no longer want. You can post a number of wanted posts, I am sure if you join and post that you are in need of bibles to donate to boys in jail, that you would get some responses. It is at east worth trying.

1) The Gideons (Call your library. Tell them you have "a research question.") Ask for the nearest chapter of this "club." Their one purpose in life is distributing Bibles. (Look in the drawer next time you go to a motel!)
2) Local churches. People that like the Bible usually have extra ones lying around "everywhere."

This is an amazing wholesale website for christian material.
Im sure you could get people to help donate money etc to acquire these, or possibly call up CBD and ask them if they do 1/2 their price or donations for PRISON MINISTRIES.
They have KJ bibles for about $2 each. Reasonable.
You could even start the newbelievers/to be, with a newtestament KJ BIBLE, i believe they offer that as well for around $1 each. =)
I bought a case of them and gave them away to an old folks home, etc. Cheap enough to keep extras in the car with you , and give them out as the Lord directs.

*P.S..If you tithe, tithing is "supposed" to be used to spread the word of God correct, so... if no one else ends up helping out...use "tithe" money and PURCHASE SOUL SAVING MATERIAL(BIBLES), BETTER THAN ANOTHER "BUILDING FUND", ETC. =)

How about for one dollar each? If you have dollar general stores where you live, they sell bibles for one dollar each. If you have a tax exemption number, you can get them with out having to pay taxes on them.
IF you attend a Church, your church will be able to get you bibles for your ministry.
