Is it ok to ask a question, about the Bible, about a single verse, even if that question is asked 50 times, trying to get an answer that makes sense.

Is that such a bad thing? Do you think the Bible and its defenders would permit the person to ask the question, trying to understand.

Is that ok?

If you ask a question and at first you get nothing that makes sense, then keep asking until it finally makes sense to you.

Well they should certainly look for similar questions first. If none of them answer it to their satisfaction, the person should look at how the question could be refined to attract better answers. Also, the person might want to consider asking their question to someone with sound knowledge of the bible, such as a priest. Of course there are such people on Yahoo! Answers, but it can be difficult to distinguish them from the nutters, can't it?

I am a Christian and I gotta tell ya, I asked this question about the same thing lots and lots of times to different people. I was tired of getting answers like "You should pray about it" or "Just have faith" or "Asking that question just shows you aren't ready to give your life to Christ" hmm...well I didn't settle for those answers and then i got some really ELABORATE answers that I was just nodding and smiling because I didn't understand it anyway and if I asked them to explain it, it would again be someway I didn't understand. Then we got a new Pastor in our Church, and he gave me the answers I could understand and I knew they were right. Its not that I wasn't praying, or that I didn't have faith...its just that I didn't understand...but after getting the answer I understood, it was like a brick in the face! How could I not have understood...cause I was looking for the "hard" answers, not everything in the bible has to be so complicated. So I say you go ahead and keep asking until you get your answer!

It's probably a good idea to ask repeatedly. Different people are on on different days or times of the day. Maybe someone that wasn't here yesterday has a better answer.

Dont you see, (listening-to your answers)
The only people that still care, keep encouraging you.
BUT YOU NEED TO EQUALLY READ THE BIBLE THROUGH IF YOUR GOING TO ASK THE SAME QUESTIONS.
*IF THE BIBLE WAS NOT SELFSUFFICIENT, AND ABLE TO ANSWER ITS OWN QUESTIONS, WHY ASK US?
OK, THEN. THE BIBLE CAN AND DOES ANSWER EVERYTHING NEEDED TO KNOW TO TRANSITION FOR THIS LIFE TO THE ETERNAL.
