Intercessionary prayer is by definition a request for god to do something different to that which he is currently doing - for example to help your parent with cancer into remission. If you maintain that god is perfect, it seems like prayer is redundant, since whatever he's doing is necessarily already for the best. In fact it could even be considered an insult, to question his judgement. So why do theists pray and what's the reasoning behind doing so?

The Quran calls them Jinn, but in the west, we know the cute like smokey creatures as GENIES! Be careful not to joke about them in front of Muslims, because you will see very quickly, they dont like it. Which is what my question is about...and its pointed at Muslims...and they know exactly what I am referring to.

You see, talking about Jinn (Genies) to Muslims is like talking about the crazy uncle in the family or the brother in jail for child molesting...it creates the 'nail on the chalkboard effect' for them.

The Quran literally babbles on and on about this race of creatures living side by side with man...right now!!! They are not invisible either...ohhh no! I tell muslims all the time, the moment I see Jinn or find the sun in a muddy spring, like the Quran says, I will join Islam, even though the idea of living in single sex communities is perverse and disgusting to me.

I was in conversation with one of my friends today and he said some interesting remark. He said, "One must bow to one's lot. It is the will of Heaven, one cannot struggle against fate."
At the time, I was preoccupied with something else and didn't ask him what he meant exactly. After constantly thinking about this phrase for a while, I am still not sure what it exactly means. If anyone knows what the phrase means, could you please share your insights? Can you explain using examples if you can?
Thanks in advance for any insights.

How open minded are you?

a) Extremely. All I know is that I know nothing

b) Fairly. I have a few guidelines I find to be true, but if you have a better idea lets hear it!

c) Somewhat. There are things I know for sure, there are things I don't. You better have some proof to change my mind.

d) Little. What I believe is the truth. You may open my mind to a few details, but that's about it

e) None. What I believe is absolute truth and of God / Allah / My Deity. Its all in the book

if jesus was a jew, how come jews and christians, for the most part, don't like eachother? how come most people don't like jews? don't they realize that by believing in god, that they also must believe in jesus, so doesn't that mean that they are being hypocrites?

I was baptized around 2 weeks ago, and now I see the world in what seems like high-def. I'm not kidding. Everything has a very defined texture, and everything has a much more vibrant color to it.
There's more stories to tell you all but I want to hear your stories.
Thanks.

Okay, in the song, when it says:

Friends don't see me, like they used to
Since I layed my burdens down

....does it mean, their old friends (unsaved) don't want to hang with them anymore
...or does it mean they don't see them the same way
...or both?

We sing this song all the time, and it is really just now, that I'm like well what the heck is that line trying to say exactly

use ur mind and answer slowly why we need our sons to tell our fathers what we need to get or we just go derictly to our fathers and ask them. That s it. so do we have to ask GOD derictly and worship him instead of asking the profet coz the profet needs himself to ask God?
