Okay, in the song, when it says:

Friends don't see me, like they used to
Since I layed my burdens down

....does it mean, their old friends (unsaved) don't want to hang with them anymore
...or does it mean they don't see them the same way
...or both?

We sing this song all the time, and it is really just now, that I'm like well what the heck is that line trying to say exactly

If you give your burdens to the Lord it will free you up to be a happy person. Everyone saved and unsaved can see that in you.

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear;
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
