Say by flushing their holy books? http://flushaholybook.com
Or drawing funny pictures of their prophets.
Or wiping our asses with the pages of their scriptures (then flush em)

The thing is we must be free to criticise one another, and disrespecting each others symbols is one way to remove their aura of holyness. We shouln'd bomb each other, or murder people, but flushing holy books? that's okay right?

In my last question, I asked Christians if God had a plan for everything, if he chose when we are born and when we die. In "A Purpose Driven Life" there is this statement: "He planned the days of your life in advance, choosing the exact time of your birth and death." This "plan" is also mentioned in Psalm 139:16. Here are my questions if this "plan" is true:
1. Does God plan all abortions? Since he plans all births and deaths, this means he wants the abortion to take place, and the mother and doctor are merely puppets in God's plan.

2. Does God plan murders? God chooses the exact time of death, so that means he planned the murder. Again, a murderer would simply be a puppet in his plan.

3. Why do people pray requesting things? If you pray for something, (better job, good health, etc.), and it is not in his plan, why bother? If it is in his plan, won't it happen without your asking. The last thing God needs is a human interfering.

Thanks for input. No bashing is intended here.

I realize there is a lot of heckling from all sides of the athiest-theist spectrum. But Christianity sets a high standard for Christian behaviour, including no heckling.

Certainly it would be atrocious behaviour to heckle someone who is -not- sane. Laughing at another's illness makes no sense except to the very sadistic amongst us.

But for Christians to heckle a sane person who rejects your faith...does not appear very Christ-like.

So why is there so much of it here at Y!A R&S?

There are no right or wrong answers to any of my questions. Some of you are new to this, so I thought I'd throw that out there.

Answer in anyway that you wish. Thanks.

If Christians stopped answering their absurd questions, since all the answers are give by other atheists anyway. How long would the high-fiving go on before anyone noticed? Hours? Days?

According to Saint John's Gospel..

In the beginning was the word, and the word was God and the word was with God.

We also have God referred to as the alpha and the omega. The first and last.

Could the solution to this definition be 'nothing' ?

That is nothing in the infinite perfect sense. Existed only in the beginning and will exist in the end in that perfect concept.

Once 'nothing' creates something, does something exist within 'nothing', where nothing has no time and space ?

What are the powers of 'nothing' ?

My boyfriend insists that the Bible says that if you marry, you'll only be concerned about material things and that's not good. So, he never wants to get married. This bothers me... And I want to show him proof that that's NOT what it says........ He used to be open about marriage, and now he's like "NEVER." Not cause of me...he loves me to death, but because of the Bible... It's annoying..

My youth pastor told me that no matter how many times we go to church, no mater how much time we spend at church, and how much effort we put into settting up for the service, we can't all go to heaven. He said that just because we're Christians doesn't mean we'll go to heaven. I don't understand that. If we call ourselves Christians, then we should believe in Jesus, and have him in our hearts, correct? And all we need in order to go to heaven is believe in Him with our whole hearts. So then, why don't all Christians go to heaven? Don't call my youth pastor stupid, or weird, or say that he's wrong. And don't bother wasting your time if your going to say something stupid. Please. Help me understand so that i know for sure that i'll be going to heaven. I've felt God say that i am, but i'm not 110% sure yet. Please help me!

I am Christian, I know that what the bible says about being a Christian. I don't believe in forcing Christianity on others though. I think that it's fine to tell people about Christianity. Even when Paul spoke to the Romans, though, he did not force Christianity on them, but merely spoke to them about Jesus and the love and healing he brought and of how Jesus died for our sins. Not once, though, did he force Christianity on them.

For all those who aren't religious, doesn't it reaffirm your belief that the majority of religious people are stupid when they try to refute your arguments about God being imaginary or the Bible being a book of myth by QUOTING THE BIBLE ITSELF? It proves to me that religion is the opiate of the ignorant masses. Haven't they heard of people laughing at them for their circular reasoning? Why do they still do it?

Please, please, pray for my father and my family. I don't care what God you pray to, just please...we need help.

My father worked as a Quality Consultant with Lucent Technologies for 25 years, until he was caught in a massive layoff. He has since to find a job (it has been 18 months) due to the fact that he is 48 years old and will be retiring in 20 years or less. He has been searching relentlessly, but has not gotten past the interview stage yet. Please pray that he will find another job.

I will be going to college next year and my sister will follow four years after me. My parents have savings, but not enough to cover this amount. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers...and if you ever hear of a Quality Engineering/Consulting job in the Baltimore, MD area, please send it my way.

I thank you for any and all help you can provide.
