I am Christian, I know that what the bible says about being a Christian. I don't believe in forcing Christianity on others though. I think that it's fine to tell people about Christianity. Even when Paul spoke to the Romans, though, he did not force Christianity on them, but merely spoke to them about Jesus and the love and healing he brought and of how Jesus died for our sins. Not once, though, did he force Christianity on them.

Yeah i don't know why some christians feel that shoving their faith down peoples throats is the way to win them over, because it's just not. If i were the type to be lured into religion it would take a kind conversation from some knowledgable religious person to convince me. Not getting yelled at about how gay marriage is wrong and how i'm the devil because i believe women should have abortions.

I wonder this too. I think some people are taught that being a good Christian is converting lots of people all the time, which isn't the case. They think that the more people they've converted, the better seat they'll get in heaven or whatever. I believe in showing the love of Jesus to others, not saying "OMG BELIEVE OR BURN IN HELL!!!" like some I know.

How would you define "forcing" Christianity on people? What you just described "tell people about Christianity" some people would consider that forcing religion on someone. You can't force people to do anything they don't want to do. People make choices about what they believe regardless of what those of other beliefs tell them.

No one is forcing anything on anyone. Sharing the word of God with others that pertains to a question here on yahoo answers, is not forcing anything on anyone.

1 Thessalonians 2:2 But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

yes, you should keep your religion to yourself unless another has showen interest in it. I'm glad that there are christians out there like you who don't use every oppertune moment to impose their scriptures and beliefs of their own churches on others. Now if we could only convince the Jehovas Witnesses that keep knocking on other people's doors of this

Sincerely,

An atheist

there's a distinction between pointing out your ideals (ie "i'm a Christian"), and attempting to stress your ideals on somebody ("you may examine the Bible as a replace, you will locate the solutions there.") maximum life like individuals are not finding to silence Christians, or circumvent them from practising their religions - or perhaps attempting to circumvent them from publicly self-figuring out themselves as such. We do purely no longer want to be consistently instructed by ability of (particular) Christians that we could examine the Bible/have faith in Jesus/etc - somewhat no count if that is not significant to the subject count handy. particular, that prefer to be left on my own might run afoul of the Christian mandate to bypass forth and unfold the international. yet, if we are able to arise with the "do no longer call" lists to decide-out from telemarketers, we could consistently be waiting to have a "do no longer Convert" checklist to circumvent proselytizing. Edit: As to why human beings do it? Why do human beings checklist their prominent musicians or television shows? they want to locate those with comparable pastimes. enable's settle for it, no count what number Pagans there are obtainable, we are nonetheless a trifling fraction of the inhabitants. Counter that with Christianity's journey, the place maximum individuals assume that the generally occurring individual they spot on the line is a Christian. there is little could state it considering that maximum individuals assume it to be the default.

I agree with you. Its good to tell others about Jesus and His love for them but you shouldn't push your faith on other people if its clear they want nothing to do with it. That is very annoying and if anything, pushes people further away from God. Instead you should pray that God helps them change their mind to let Him into their heart.
