20 years ago, my parent's marriage was falling apart. I was so upset about it that I called out to God, asking him to prove that he was real by letting me see my guardian angel. It was a sunny summer afternoon and I was sitting in a chair on the pattio crying my eyes out to him. Suddenly I felt my hair stand straight up from static electricity. And as I looked up to see what it was, I saw a sphere or a ball of electricity moving over my head and going straight towards the corner of the yard. I was in total shock and amazement and I never doubted God again. He was real! I had seen it with my own eyes.

OK then Christians...I asked why people go to hell, and everyone gave me the BS about free will. So let's give it a second try:

Why does God send people to hell if he is nice and loving? No BS about free will....come on give me something that is new. Yeah we sinned but he can change the rules if he is all-powerful....

I'm a Christian but I haven't been praying to God and reading the bible but have been talking ABOUT God to my Christian Friends and how wonderful He is and always think about Him.(I'm busy with my studies in college I know that's bad) Am I bad or something or going off track or going to hell? Just curious. I know I won't go to hell since I'm saved. Just wanted to know other mature Christians' point of view.

Christians can't wait for their god to "beam them up"
Non-believers ALSO would love to see this happen.

See, common ground is there, if we just take the time to look for it.

What do you think?

In reality it is seen that islam promotes terrorism, hatret to other religions, multiple marraiges, marraiges between close relatives, killing of kafer, killing among themselves for power including father and son, reckless divorce, curtain rule for women, medieval madrasa education,no family planning, torture to women, shariati law, fasting for one month in ramjan, traitor, radical thinking etc etc. Then why the political parties of india appease them instead of proper enlightment to them.Islam needs religious reform urgently to get rid off the stigma of inferior mankind.

I'm a Christian, but not the most mature one and not the most immature but I would say Lord give me wisdom I pray for that person for wisdom and safety. That's all I say because I'm not as creative in my words as my more spiritual/religious friends and I"m tired of repeating the same words. Suggestions?

I think they are pretty entertaining and true. It's funny how muslims get so P.O.'d over a few pics of their savior.

"why should you believe in God?" is a more appropriate question, though. He has proven Himself to you, and He does exist. Just because you say something doesn't exist doesn't make it automatically disappear! So what is it, then? Why don't you believe? Would you rather go through life by yourself, or give it up to Jesus? Would you rather a sulfur-filled crematorium or a castle in Heaven? Would you rather contemplate that wrong move for the rest of eternity or be glad that you made the right choice for the rest of eternity?

Your fate is resting solely in your hands. No one--not even God can force you. It's all up to you. This may be your last chance. Stop procrastinating--you don't know when you might die. And when you die, it's forever finished.

When you don't accept Jesus, you only cheat yourself!

You won't regret it if you accept Jesus as your Savior! God promises that much!

I'll admit, this is kind of a knock-off of a question this one girl asked. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmunfQCJk1yw40lBhpW1A13sy6IX?qid=20060916194944AAofaXq
If you don't want to click the link, that's fine. Basically, she asked if you were being tortured, and the only way to get out of being tortured is to say "God is fake," would you do it?
Well, my question is somewhat similar, but with different circumstances. Let's say your husband/wife, best friend, or even your kids were in the hands of a killer, with a gun to their head. If the only way to save your loved one(s) was to say "God is fake," would you do it? Think hard, because he/she WILL die if you say "God is real."

Yeah, I know, it's an extreme situation, but let's just role play for a little while. Would you, or would you not?

Religion explains everything but this question. If there is a God, how did he become about, and what was he doing before he created life? Why are there planets without life, he has had plenty of opportunities to put the perfect and sin-free existance there, he could start all over, but there is nothing??? How can we believe in something if our questions cannot be answered? You say 'trust in him' 'have faith', but how many of us trust something a)we don't understand and b) has flaws in it
And if Adam and Eve really existed - and the apple was eaten - why do the rest of us have to suffer for it?
It's almost like having the one kid in class who mucks up and everyone has to do detention, or if someone one country does something wrong, it's 'declare war against the whole country' is this right??? No matter how much faith you have, you will never have a perfect life.
It's so much easier just being responsible for yourself and not believing.

I heard Rosie Odonnel say that. I am curious as to how radical Christians can be so harmful as much as radical muslims in another country.

I don't like Rosie I'm just curious as to what others think on this.

Discuss!

It seems that our beliefs and our faith is behind most of the conflicts in our history. Even in this day and age of scientific awareness and technology, we still believe in the same things that humans believed 2,000 years ago. Those people were crippled by a narrowminded view of the universe. Why should we share those same views with those ancient people? We are much smarter than that.

Think of it like this, which would you rather have? A doctor of today or a doctor 2,000 years ago? So why can't we do the same in our beliefs and faiths. Religion can never progress. It's always stuck in the past in the time that the bible and other texts were written. t's time for us to find something else to believe in. Something that actually has proof and evidence. It's called Science.
