That's one of the most sincere questions i've seen on here in a long time. Prayer isnt just speaking to God, prayer should be considered communication with God. Hopefully you have a few relationships in your life that you value i'll explain why. Any good relationship is based on two people expressing their minds to one another. Verbally or through actions one needs to communicate somehow to the other what your feeling, thinking, doing. Same with God, not only do you want to ask for wisdom but listen to what He might be telling you. Prayers should be a very honest conversation with the one you call, Savior, Lord, freind. And as with any good conversation it's a two way street. To offer a more specific reference on praying Jesus provides the most excellent way, He says in Matthew " this then is how you should pray > > > verses 9-13 are the words He used. Ask God this , Lord teach me Your heart of prayer and intercession. He'll do it. Jesus wants us to follow His example and the word tells us He sits at Gods right hand making intercession for the saints. In other words Jesus is still praying for us at this very moment in heaven. Asking God for that same heart will change your prayer life in the most amazing ways.

It really doesn't matter what u say to God as long as u are true to him and ur self when u pray. Praying doesn't have to be the same old words with Amen at the end. When u pray u can say anything that comes out of the heart-and that's what u call True Prayer.

Perhaps you can be a little more specific. In what vein are you praying for wisdom? For relationships? Work? How to talk to others about God?
The bible says God does not hear vain repetitions. We need to make sure our prayers before God are authentic, and not just mindlessly asking for the same thing over and over, just casually tossing off a request here and there. I'm not saying that is what you are doing, but if you are "tired" of saying the same things, it sounds like you aren't really thinking about what you saying to God.

that's clearly appropriate - asserting the comparable issues repeatedly returned will become meaningless. If we had a pal who merely repeated the comparable issues to us each and every time we observed them we would think of they're loopy, and actually ought to care much less approximately bobbing up a solid courting with them. God is not any diverse - he needs us to boost a distinctive very own courting with him by ability of pouring our heart out to him. Jesus kind or 'our Father prayer' became given as a kind of issues that are significant to need approximately. If we ought to repeat a prayer by ability of rote or study it from a e book - the place does it come from? yet somebody else. as quickly as we convey our heartfelt prayers to God that's uniquely from us - to that end that's unquestionably a sacrifice of compliment to our expensive Heavenly Father.

Most of the time I find that 'mature' and 'immature' for the church means who can come up with the most intelligent words for prayer. God doesn't care what you say. Why don't you just say what you feel He would say to them. It's not about impressing your friends...I've tried it and it doesn't work. I found that if you kick the religious language thing it helps you not feel so self-conscious. Just try using everyday words to express your prayers, just like He's right there. He doesn't care about how your words come out.

If you ever want to spend time in prayer and are stumped for words, maybe try praying the psalms? These are the prayers that Jesus would've prayed as an observant Jew. It can be hard to rely on yourself all the time to come up with prayer - it's OK to pray prayers that other people have written.

Jesus gave us an example for prayer, but he did not intend for us to use it by rote. Pray in your own words for the things you need. Pray for specifics. If you need rent money pray for rent money.
Read the scriptures and ponder and pray for understanding. Read how others such as Jesus, Paul, Elijah or David prayed.
On Sunday keep a prayer open all day. It will change how you react to things.

Your personal relationship with God is yours. Pray how you wish. Why listen to a man's version of Christianity anyways? The bible clearly says to seek ye first the face of God. Not the face of some man who is only reading you the Bible the way it was interpreted to him in some Seminary. It makes him no more right that any tree in the woods.

I believe in effective prayer. Just saying some words repetitively is not effective prayer. Prayer should come from the depths of your being. Honest, heartfelt emotions. We should approach Deity with reverence and mirth, it doesn't have to be a solemn thing. Speak from your heart.
