The Rapture is very much misunderstood. Show me where God takes someone from a trial or tribulation. God takes his people thorough them! Daniel was not zipped out from the Lions den. God took him through it! Jonah was not snatched before the whale ate him. God used the whale to deliver him. God did not take David from the battlefield and smite Goliath for him. God did not take Paul before the soldiers through him in jail! He took Paul through it. Christians, God will not take you out before the end! He will take you thorough to the end! He will never leave you or forsake you! The Rapture is the end of time. That is the time of the first Resurrection! Non believers will not see it. they will be dead. Awaiting the 2ND Resurrection. The common ground is, No one alive on earth.

See, you think you are being clever ,but that's one of the oldest "New Age" theories there is.When the church is Raptured (caught up to meet the Lord in the air...the Bible says)The new agers are gonna say "SEE! Our friends,the aliens came and took those mean ol'Christians away..now we can usher in the age of Aquarius,and peace will be on Earth."
Until all Hell breaks loose after 3 1/2 years of this fake peace...well, just wait another 3 1/2 yrs and Jesus will return,this time to touch down and ooo! is he upset with Anti-Christ and the False prophet and Satan!Glad I'll be on His side.
For you Christians who don't believe in the Rapture,did you tear out of your Bibles I and II Thessalonians?????(Paul says"and those of us alive and left will be CAUGHT UP in THE AIR to MEET THE LORD"caught up means Rapture,to be snatched away)

You're right! There is some common ground.
Here's some more;
- believers and nonbelievrs each think the others are foolish
- believers reject other people's gods, and so do nonbelievers
- both breathe regularly

When it does happen the non-believers will experience things that have never happened in the history of the world.
Matthew 24:21
For that will be a time of greater horror than anything the world has ever seen or will ever see again.

here is my analogy of athieism and christian faith. one day some anonymous person generously sent everybody in the world 100,000 dollars each, a book of rules and regulations and a letter that says, vegas casino grand opening! riches beyond your wildest dreams! everyone's a winner! thats why i have enclosed this check fully redeemable to you, just in good faith that you will attend. the choice is yours! the book was long and too many rules and regulations but they thought they could do it. after all it wasn't costing them anything all they have to do is read the instructions, follow the rules, believe it's all true and wait for the opening. taking a big chance like that was scary to most of them but they thought wouldn't it be wonderful if its really true. they could have millions and millions.
but some of the people were impulsive and wanted to take the money and spend it right away. they didn't care what the rule book said or even playing the game. they didn't want to play the game and take a chance on losing that money they already had in the check. honestly it just plain sounded fishy. it was so easy and tempting to cash the check, buy the things they wanted now and live it up. anyway someone was spreading a rumor that the anonymous person, the casino and the promise was a myth created by polititians to fool the other people just to get them to follow their own rules for political gain. after all there was no proof that the person ever existed or that there was a new casino. they studied all the history records and they couldn't find a single shred of evidence. the rumor had to be true and it kept spreading until there were many thousands of people that believed it. so they threw out the instructions, forgot about the rules and they spent the money without a care.buying all the things they thought they could want. they laughed at the believers and called them fools. the believers fearfully waited. years went by. some of the believers even gave up, they had waited so long and agreed that it was surely a lie... so they spent their money too. soon their money was all gone. still the idea of being more rich and powerful tantalized them and greed took them over, because deep inside they secretly wondered about that casino. so they beat and robbed the others. took their money and waited.
then the call came. it was time to go vegas. the non-believers were astonished, the myth was true. so they packed their bags and money, left for vegas. but the poor believers had no money to bet. what could they do? they too wanted to be rich but how could it be done? they were all but out of hope and decided to go anyway. when the true believers got there they lowered their heads when they entered the casino and cried we have no money. the owner of the casino just smiled and said "thats alright go to the desk and tell them i sent you, its all taken care of." their hearts filled with joy as they received a countless amount of treasures, eternal life, and the deeds to every nation on earth. they thanked the casino owner for his generosity and kindness but they noticed a certain sadness in his eyes. they asked if he wanted all or some of the treasures back. he just smiled and told them that just the fact that they got there was all he wanted. choking on his tears he said "where are the others didn't they make it, so many just don't make it out this far in the desert to my casino. they get lost so easily along the way and thats why i include a map in the pages of the book. i thought there would be so many he sighed i guess they didn't read the book. he told the believers if they ever needed him for anything he would be there. he stepped out the door and looked up the road then down the road several times. then he just sighed again, looked at his watch and shook his head. slowly turned and pulled the casino doors shut with a loud thud.
today 6 miles outside of vegas, a crowd of over 20,000 people carrying large amounts of cash were reported to be in a state of utter chaos, panic and violence. reports said that they appeared to be lost and have gone quite mad. they seemed to have been hunting some mysterious man and a map that led the way to vast riches. one witness said she heard some of them ranting about living forever and crying "why won't you believe me." the nevada state police are baffled. the fbi and the cdc are investigating and the cdc maintains that it could have been heat exaustion that caused the mass hysteria but it remains a mystery.

Those who wish to see Christians off the planet will get what they desire.
So will I, a Christian, when I meet the Lord in the clouds.
