In Matthew Chapter 2 verse 1-12, he metions Magi, but not the exact number.
In the 8th century the tradition became that there were three magi, Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar, because he only mentions the three gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh.

did you know that daniel left a inheritance for the savior 300 years befor he was born.
i dont know exactly where (daniel was given many proposies) but he knew the sign of the star.
the magi saw the star and saught the savior. the probably didnt come untill he was older. (herod ordered the death of any child 2 years old or younger why would he do so if he had just been born)
i just looked at the bible and the only place that the magi are recorded is mathew.
