It seems that our beliefs and our faith is behind most of the conflicts in our history. Even in this day and age of scientific awareness and technology, we still believe in the same things that humans believed 2,000 years ago. Those people were crippled by a narrowminded view of the universe. Why should we share those same views with those ancient people? We are much smarter than that.

Think of it like this, which would you rather have? A doctor of today or a doctor 2,000 years ago? So why can't we do the same in our beliefs and faiths. Religion can never progress. It's always stuck in the past in the time that the bible and other texts were written. t's time for us to find something else to believe in. Something that actually has proof and evidence. It's called Science.

But bad people are bad to just be bad. They believe that they are doing good. I doubt there will ever be someone who is evil and KNOWS they are evil. All the evil in the world is humans who believe they are doing good for their cause and beliefs.

...non-belivers are the biggest threat? Since when did a scientist or an atheist start a conflict?

...just because something seems complex to you. Does not mean that it must have been created by someone. How do we draw that conclusion?

Do you really not understand? The conflict is not mans at all. It is between God and one who would be like god. Satan.
We, Mankind are drawn into this conflict of good and evil.
Because Evil can pretend to be good, while Good can never even pretend to be Evil. Satan can mislead people in to believing what he wants them to. God tells you the truth and lets you decide.
As far as people progressing. A great many Scientist then and now believe in God. They were just as intelligent back then as people are today. God has given us a wonderful brain that keeps figuring out ways to do things in a new fashion. All ideas are built on other ideas. The doctors today got there from studying what doctors of yesterday learned from their studies. But when an Idea was a good one it does not change. Like doctors figured out it was good idea to wash their hands before working on someone. At the time they did not know why it was. Just that is was! I think it still is a good idea to trust in God and wash your hands

I do agree that religion is the greatest threat to society, but mostly in our own American society. It's a threat because everyone wants to push their own belief on to others. I suppose I should say that Christians want to push their religion onto everyone else. This is clear everywhere we go. A Christian holiday is a federal holiday. Why isn't Jewish, Muslim, or Buddhist holidays federal holidays. Most politicians are Christians and try push what they believe into laws as in no same sex marriage and banning abortion. I do agree that religion is never going to change. I don't think people should give up their religion, they should just listen to logic when it comes to dealing with other people.

I've no beef with the teachings of Christ. That said, I think people who put together the various religions after his death have caused an incredible amount of trouble, and a small amount of good in this world. If the fundamental Christians have their way, and start WW3 to bring on the second coming, it will be the biggest threat the planet has ever seen.

Yea, maybe you're right. I definitely think we should be realistic and not put on too much faith in our religion. I mean, we should be balanced. We can't immediately stop people from being religious. But we can educate them.

I think religion IS a great threat, I don't know if it's the greatest. I am sure we will progress faster if conflicts are lessened.

How is believing in Jesus being stuck in the past? Jesus provided for our future. And even though people have been believing in him for 2000 years, science has progressed to where it is now and will continue to progress. Believing hasn't stopped progress. The world we live in now proves that.
While studying anatomy and physiology and chemistry in college my faith in a God was confirmed. There is no way these bodies 'just happened' by chance. They're too complex. They had to have been created by a higher being.
