If the universe started with the "Big Bang" then where did energy come from to cause the Big Bang? Also, how can a giant explosion cause anything but chaos?

What does the "H" mean when someone curses saying "Jesus H. Christ." I would assume something derogatory (if you are going to use names in vain anyway, why not go all the way?), but I don't know for certain.

Was someone there taking notes and watching it all unfold? I think it takes a tremendous amount of faith to believe in something nobody is 100% sure about. Could it be Neanderthals or primates who are supposed to be our distant relative were just another race and were wiped out along with the dinosaurs in the flood? How is a meteor more believable than the flood? How is that a theory full of holes stands up to The Holy Bible? Couldn't it all be interconnected? Everything had to start from something. Something could not have come from nowhere. Couldn't 6 days to God be billions of years to us? There is no proof of anything so why are evolutionist so sure? Oh and yes I have studied evolution and read the books. I am not naive. Please no offensive answers. I'm looking for thought provoking answers, thank you. I'm looking for solid proof. I am not questioning my faith, I'm questioning yours.

I understand the reasons behind hijab, but why the niquab? or Purdah? Is it really neccesary for women to live in seclusion or is this another cultural thing and not an Islamic practice?

Is my picture overally camp?

I thought the little beard was a dead giveaway.

And I'm sorry it's posted here, but I don't think they have a section for accidental cross dressing.

why do I feel grateful for having been with this person even though it's over. i don't long for anyone else and i don't understand why people always say that you can keep someone in your heart forever but find another person to move on with.

why is that when no one else can ever replace him and the memories keep me feeling loved.

thanks.

I buy homeless people lunch because things are never going to get better for them. (I don't give them cash because they typically buy booze with it).
When you die, it is all over, so you may as well help the people around you.

I don't believe in God, heaven and hell, talking donkeys, ghosts knocking up virgins, etc....but I'm curious as to the Christian view---is an atheist who routinely helps the poor doomed to hell while a Christian who is "saved", but looks out for #1 on the way to heaven?

Don't you think that the dogma of Darwinism, which is both fatally flawed and blasphemous. should not be promoted as fact to highly suggestible children, and that they should be offered a properly researched and planned Creationist account AS WELL (note the capital letters!) to give them an alternate view?
It's just I'm sick of a flawed theory being rammed down my neck. Reading Creationist material made me realise that it, as a theory, is absolute rubbish, and Creationism is sensible. I just want any of the children I have in the future to be brought up according to the Bible, not some mumbo-jumbo!
In fact, evolutionists have created the biggest evil in the world- look at Hitlers Aryan race theory that his Aryan race was superior to the Jewish 'inferior' race. Point proven!

Will you share your story with me? Here's mine:

I was pro-choice throughout my youth and high school experience. When I was in college, I went to a debate between a NOW spokeswoman and a woman from an organization of which I had not heard before. At the beginning of the debate, I was still pro-choice. As I listened, I came to realize that the NOW spokeswoman's reasons for abortion were selfish in their nature and the other woman seemed to addressing the needs of the mother in addition to the father and the baby. I can't remember what specific question I asked the NOW spokeswoman, but she apparantly interpreted it as a anti-abortion slanted question and did not answer it at all. Then, she cut me off when I tried to ask again. I may have been pro-choice when I stood up to ask that question in a last attempt to justify my beliefs in the morality of abortion, but I sat down a changed woman. Over time, the more I learned about abortion as I researched, the more convinced I became

I already asked this on the philosophy forum but I would like to open this to everyone on religion/spirituality. Hopefully I can get responses from a few beliefs.

I know views on this vary within the Atheistic world view and I would like to hear the different opinions of the existence of freewill. I personally do not believe in freewill. I think our consciousnesses are a product of our environment and the chemical reactions that occur in our brains. The idea of freewill has evolved to give animals a feeling of individuality. Because of this, I think, it is necessary to accept this feeling of free will but to also realize that freewill, as in the definition (Done of one's own accord; voluntary) is false.

Hiya all!

I'm a little confused, I am not christian, I am open mindind, and so I don't really know the Bible that well. But, I do however need to know about Adam and Eve, according to Catholics.

I was really hoping that I could get some help with this please, and where the best place is to look to get a detailed explination of Adam and Eve.

Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated ;-)
