I understand you allow for the possibility that there may be something out there. However, you could be atheist and if presented with proof of the existance of a god, then become a believer. What is it that prevents you from simply being atheist from the start?

Logic dictates that if all the religions of the world are wrong or in some way, irrational, then the beliefs associated with them are also irrational. Hence, there would be no higher power.

Serious question here, what made you draw the line?

Personally, I feel every time someone says that to me, they truly wish and hope it happens. Maybe that is why there is so much bad feelings and tension between the groups.

is kill me or reveal himself to me and make me believe. Since he doesn't do either, I conclude that he either doesn't exist, or enjoys watching me irritate all of you zealots and fundies and sheeple.
What is your opinion? I'm sure you have one, we all do.......

Or put another way, what gave Nelson Darby insight into things that no real Christian ever deduced in the last 2000 years before he came up with this idea ? The scripture verses of "left behind" only refer to dead bodies "where vultures gather"

Why is it that people are willing to listen to nothing except there own doctrines, as far as I am concerned, it is the isms that cause the schisms, or am I wrong, amd if so, why?

Maybe he went up the mountain and was thinking "Those people just won't listen... I got a great idea... I'll tell them I talked to God and he told me these things they just can't do... I am sure they'll be doing something wrong when I get down there so I can get mad and smash them and convince them God really did give me them!"

It makes sense.. Could have happened this way...
Parents do this all the time with their children.. "Stop that right now or we're turning the car around and going home." When they are halfway to their vacation destination... yeah right.

I think this was a false threat invented to motivate Moses' herd into corrective actions.

The breathe is also part of the soul. Without the body and the breathe of life, we wouldn't be alive. The spirits live, but they aren't dead people. Spirits are not souls. We are souls.

On public access in Riverside County, CA, there is this TV preacher that has severly thinned out white hair, scabs all over his face, and smokes a cigar.
He talks about sin and the bible then says how tabacco was not a sin in the bible. He then gets up before a class (you never see the class of course) and he goes into translations in Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Phoenician, Latin and English. Also he uses numeric symbology in Revelations translations.
I think this Scab Man is totally off his rocker but he is so funny to watch that I get captivated by his ghoulish charisma.
Who is this guy?
I heard some of his folowers calling him Jesus and using Jewish messianic codes and wordage. Do people think this guy is Jesus?
In addition he went on to include Jewish teachings and said he was the Jewish messiah and Christian savior but he said he wouldn't call himself god or Jesus since it would be apparent in people's eyes if he was god. The audience then called him the messiah, Jesus, and god.

From reading and listening, I guess I fit more into the "Agnostic" category than any other. I don't have a desire to argue with Athiests, and they don't seem to want to engage in theology debate with me either -- even though there are distinct differences between our respective beliefs. But the Christian sects lump us into one category and we can engage in battle for days on end. Why is this?

Flesh cannot incarnate flesh. Souls were made out of dust and without our body we would cease to exist. We aren't spirits you know.

Christians say that only God and Jesus are perfect and we humans are not.

It is true, we are not perfect.

However, if God were perfect and he created us imperfectly - that would make him imperfect as well since a perfect being cannot make mistakes.

I don't have a problem with my arrogance. I'll admit it. I'm arrogant because I feel I am right. In that regard I'm the same as a beilever. However, I do allow for others to think what they want without me telling them they are going to hell for whatever they think. In that regard, I would have to say they are more arrogant than me. Is my way always right? No. Do I try and have proof for what I believe? Yes. So, why do people say I am so arrogant and not point the finger at themselves?
