I don't have a problem with my arrogance. I'll admit it. I'm arrogant because I feel I am right. In that regard I'm the same as a beilever. However, I do allow for others to think what they want without me telling them they are going to hell for whatever they think. In that regard, I would have to say they are more arrogant than me. Is my way always right? No. Do I try and have proof for what I believe? Yes. So, why do people say I am so arrogant and not point the finger at themselves?

hmm, I don't see you as arrogant. I think that you are opinionated and that's a GOOD thing...but you don't try to force your opinions down anyones throat...so no harm, no foul :) I personally think you are very cool and I enjoy your q&a's! An arrogant person would not have said "Is my way always right? No" Arrogance is someone who has and inflated estimation of themselves.....you don't.... :)

I guess I am curious as to why you care so much about why Christians feel the way that they do, and what they are thinking - it almost seems as if this interminable debate that you keep up is more so to convince yourself of all that you are saying. No one can or will stop you from believing what you believe, and anyone can see that you are determined and confident in your beliefs. The nature and persistence of your questions point more to your own motives and inner confidence (that you like to characterize as arrogance), but it still seems, from all of your continued pursuit of this topic, that you need daily, repeated reassurances that what you believe is sound and right and worthy of admiration.

You do make good and entertaining points, but it somehow hacks you off that people can accept things on faith. Much of what we know and understand, even in the here and now of this material world, are things that we must accept on faith, or we would spend so much time trying to prove the existence of everything, we would not have time for anything else. I accept the fact that not everything has a concrete, visible source in this world, and am able to accept many things on faith. One of those things, is the existence of a divine Creator. You can't and won't ever accept that - and I accept that too. It doesn't keep me up at night.

Would you ever, in one of your questions, consider asking why those 11 disciples or apostles, minus Judas of course, all, with the exception of John, went to their deaths in violent, ugly, gruesome fashion? (crucified upside down, skinned alive, run through with a spear, etc...) Why would those men have done that - to protect a fraud, a hoax - a charlatan? Their lives and deaths are a matter of the historical record. I would be curious to hear your take on why they died...

I don't know what you believe or why you believe it, so I don't know why you have such confidence. That aside, one might have arrogance in the way they present there belief but if they present something that seems to be an ultimatum( do this or go to hell) you shouldn't look at it as arrogance, but as a different belief in what reality is. They may not be wanting to say that they are right and everyone else is wrong. They may just be as convinced as yourself, or more convinced, and are just looking out for your well being, as I'd hope you would if your belief meant that my ignorance would have such disasterous conseqenses.

You are not arrogant, you have your own opinion and you recognise your right to it. Arrogance can be defined as feeling greater self worth than you have, i do not feel this is the case here. Everyone believes themselves to be right. You become arrogant when you doubt yourself but still condemn other people for having different beliefs.

I wouldn't say you were arrogant. But, to answer your question about you and believers being the same in that aspect, I would say NO.
You see the difference is, you believe in your way, but Christians don't just believe, they know the truth. When you know the Truth it sets you free. Once, you allow yourself to experience this, you'll understand what I'm talking about. An undeniable Truth that will set you free. God Bless.

No you are not more arrogant or less arrogant than others. You are the same. I too can be pretty arrogant. I try to watch myself and not be however. But it is not attractive.

Well...I feel very strong in my feith, still I am not arrogant.

I rather to be humble coz, beyong my religion I can be mistaken and sometimes go wrong.

What I mean is, being religious doesnt make me perfect at all.

We are humans and for this very reason we wont be able to attain perfection in this life. Its part of our nature.

And letting other people do whatever they want to do, is more about being practical in this life...I mean...what do I earn forcing people to think the way I do????

That is a waste of time in most cases. So I really think more than arrogants, those who strives in proving they are right or wrong are more unconscious about how to spend their time in more productive ways.

They feel it is easier to blame you because they can't take responsibility for their actions.

When they try to convert you to their way of religion they feel like it is getting them closer to their heaven. You know, like the one with the most points wins attitude.

I also have to have proof and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Proof to me is what makes me believe. Not having the proof makes me a Thinker. I would rather be a Thinker than a Believer.

If you had a vision of the future of mankind and saw it would be very bad.........and you felt so many would die...then I think you too would feel passionate about trying to warn people. some of the younger christians are driven by this passion and haven't learned yet how to communicate without without judgement. Some are just plain hateful.........but most really just want to be a seed and let God be the harvester
