Religion & Spirituality - 6 September 2006

This is just important to me. I am not a very religious person. THough I have religious people in my family. I dont want to dissapoint anyone by not doing "the right thing" for my child and sending him/her to church. Should I let my own child decide what religion they like (if any at all) with no peer pressure from any one?

why do catholics praise mary? it says you shall not come unto the father but by me. mary sinnned. mary had other children. i don't believe she is the mother of God. how can she be she didn't appear on earth when jesus needed to be born. she was born on earth and born into sin like all of us.

I believe in that there is one god, he is all forgiving, no matter what you do as long as you mean well you will go to "paradise" (i call it that because i'm not sure if i'm a christian or not therefore don't call it heaven). i lead a good life, i help people worse off than me as much as i can and give to charity regulary. i find myself drawn towards the consept of bushido as i think it's a good way to conduct myself. what religon am I?

Me and my brother had a argument one time over how life was started. He was saying that the chances of life starting itself with the atmosphere, lightning, water and everything else on the planet on the time, was an incredibly large chance that it couldn't happen. We will say the number he used was a "trillion to one" I said "well if you have forever to try to make life, wouldn't you eventually be able to do it even with those odds?" He wasn't happy with me.... I don't have anything against religion, I just hate how all religions are right in their eyes and usually no one wants to listen to other opinions or beliefs.

if we did a survey in this section who here feels that christians get bashed more in this site than any other religion. that a majority of the christians bashers are either poking bad jokes on christians or just down right hateful? i am not for segregation, but with this site maybe we should. i am just tired of the misunderstood, hatefull remarks , which most of the hateful remarks dont have anything to back them up other than their not liking us.

to those who wish to share hate or rude remarks. well you just proved my point exactly.

yes i know other religiouns are also getting bashed and i wish it would all stop, but i see more of a trent toward christians. if i am mistaken there i am sorry, but maybe this site shouldn't hane been started at all.

dont you want to join us in being a warriror oops wait how do you spell that? i'm an idiot and i got educated in a christian school so how do i spell anything? anyway, acept the lord in your hart and prase his name dayly in your room face the wall and pray to him he's somewhere there and dont worry about your first 99 prayers wont be answered but the one that will be answer is a miracle so wait i'm a christian so i dont count so how does this go, ok, 1 out of 110 prayers ansired isnt bad now isnt it, just ignure the other 99 anyway jesus be with you and also with you this you may all now go in peace this prayer meeting is a jury, woops, wait, or is the word ajurned the word i'm looking for? anway, i have no brain, amen.

If they have their morals, and they think we are bad people, and they think killing us is good, then how could God consider it sin, if He never told them what is right or wrong? Think about it. If you believe what you do is right, then only what you believe should be considered true.

How can believing something other than Christianity be a person's fault, how is it not God's fault?

This question may seen offensive to some, but this just my personal feelings and thoughts.

Why do we keep the lame and sick alive. I mean, someone who is autistic, or has down syndrome, why do you keep then alive. They do not help society in anyway. The extremely mentally ill why do we keep then alive? If medication can help then and allow then to function as regular members or society thats fine. But what about the ones beyond hope, why do we allow to live? Same with the Blind, what function are they going to server, they can't see, what can they do? The Deaf are different they can learn sign language and see, and be of use. Mentally challenge, those with very low IQs why allow them to live.

I believe that every so often there should be a great culling of the people.

These are just some of my thoughts? On the betterment of Society as a whole.

Ive been reading some of the answeres and question on here and i see alot of people be mean about stuff. if we have something to say we should say it nicely. and not only that trying to change other peoples religions. the christians arent gonna change the atheist and the atheist arnt going to change the christians. nobodys gonna change unless they want to, so why be negative???
