There is science that proves that god created the world is false. We have fossils that prove dinosaures walked the earth which are not mentioned in the bible!!! And it is biologically impossible for Mary to get pregnant. I am not disagreeing with people having faith but want to know how the church justifies such hard evidence that God does not exist.

Do you get bored reading them?

How long do people stay here at this site since most of these religious opinions are cyclic.

Do you feel like a dog chasing its tail and get irritated because you can't catch it?

Who am I?

Why am I here?

Can I learn anything from this site?

Who's your Daddy?

Did I say that?

Is this stupid? -- Why yes I do believe it IS and guess what...I don't care!

Do you?

God may have created us, but he never helps us. Our selfish prayers do not work, and the church only feeds itself. All that love for God…you could be giving it to the world.

I keep reading where everyone act like everyone in the world have always known about Islam. I myself have only just heard of it in the last maybe 2 years and only for the bad it has done. I have yet to see the good parts. So how long have you known of the existents of Islam? I guess I have heard one thing good but it was not Islam, it was Hezbollah giving money away to gain followers acting like it was for the people of Lebanon to rebuild on. When really a payment for services.

Answer any part of my statement but really all I wanted to find out was how long have the US public known of Islam and maybe other parts of the world know of the religion?

Why should I not do the things I enjoy doing now simply on the off chance there is a god of some sort? It would be like choosing not learning to drive in case I have a crash somewhere down the line.
And I am looking for reasoned arguement not lots of quotations or the 'because you should' or 'because else you will go to hell' brigade. Lets try to have sensible and reasonable discussion. My mind is open.

i'm so persecuted in america i dont know what to do, i cant even walk down the street wearing a cross without being harrassed, wahhhh wahhh why did you hated me so much? Christ said it would be this wayy waaaaaaa. Only 85 percent of America is christian and i'm a christian and i dont how to count so since all surveys point to the fact that 85 percent of people in america are christians that makes us christians a minority and according to my brainless calculations 85 percent is only less than half of the population that worship my precious myth jesus waaaahhh i cant even go to one of the 20 churches within a square mile of my home without having to look over my shoulder worrying that someone might assault me for being a christian as i exit the church and head home i'm always so worried waaaaaaaaa why am i sooo persecuted i'm even barred from holding office since i'm a christian waaaa and i really wanted to hold office but i cant waaaaaa how do i overcome all this adversity waaa waaa waa

….almost all sins are animal instinct and virtues are descriptions of when we overcome and keep those instincts in check with our higher cognition? Do you think that religions may have been a way for societies to reward people who were able to show self discipline and not give in to instinct by giving them a pat on the back (calling them virtuous) and promising them rewards after death for their self control?

Don´t you see how ridiculously pathetic are the superstitions to which mankind give so much credit? I´m not proud of being human. I´d rather be anything else than having something to do with such a primitive bunch. Do you religious type even know what... say... a stromatolite is for example? Nooooooo... You´re too deep into your Jesus saving absurdity. For you the Earth is 6000 years old. Saved from what poor sobs?Unfortunately I´m stuck with you on the same planet. So I´ll keep trying to show you how beautiful life is without your mental god-garbage.
Best regards

Was this someone that Jesus knew personally, and if so, when and where did they meet? Surely he was a historical person, because he is mentioned in the Bible, and we know that everything in the Bible really happened.

"Jesus continued: 'There was a man who had two sons.'" -Luke 15:11 (NIV). There is no mention of Jesus saying, "OK, here is a fictional story I'm using to illustrate a point: There was a man..." No, if Jesus said "There was a man..."; then there must have been a man, and he must have had two sons, who behaved exactly as described in Jesus' historical account.

Or is it possible that some stories in the Bible were actually intended as parables; metaphors we could use to help us lead better lives, but not to be taken as literal fact? Since it doesn't say specifically in Luke that the Prodigal Son is a parable, how do you know which other stories weren't also intended as metaphors? Like Genesis, for example.

Jesus taught peace and love (which I believe in also) But there is also great violence done in the old testoment.
And I could be very mistaken but wasn't the reason Jesus told his disiple to put away his knife after cutting the pharises ear off because he had to let them capture him in order for prophesy to be fulfilled. Is it ok to defend yourself/ loved ones? I don't want to offend anyone but I need to figure this out once and for all. Thanks

If incest is so wrong and even "christians believe that" then how did the world get populated.

DO NOT get me wrong I think it is nasty but I believe it is a very valid question.

any of these really smart , brainy folks, who can't see past their own heads, can come up with any new stupidity, I mean questions.
It's always the same....can God, prove God, why would God.
They have had the answers and still choose to deny truth.

God healed me and science could not.....I'm I not really healed because a doctor didn't do it?

". . imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, `This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it's still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for."

I think that is says something interesting both about creationist thinking (the world is so perfectly suited to us that it proves ___) and the complacency of the world in terms of environmental changes.

I'm looking for a quote from the bible for a tattoo (a bible reference) I do have one but unfortunately everything applies except the last bit, 'yet he knew no violence' - a past that is long forgotten, and I've made my peace, but I need something that is very profound as it's going to be permanent!

Thanks

If you cannot defend your religion then your religion does not make sense. You only keep your beliefs to stay “closer to the herd.” That doesn't make you a coward, but how else can you reach your potential if you just do what your momma tells you to?
