I have read about the history of the Jehovah's witnesses and their founder, Charles Taze Russel and I have seen terrible things. They have a very worldly history but they still claim to be the true church!!!!

I am protestant, and my girlfriend is catholic. We are doing very well, but I am worried that if we got married there could be problems because my faith is very important to me.

I was at my city's art and wine festival this past weekend and I met some people from a church in the area and talked a few minutes with the pastor. He gave me a booklet describing what kinds of activities his church has, as well as what his church believes.

On the back page, it talks about the church's denomination and something about Calvinism and Arminianism. What do these words mean? Thank you.

muslims seem to have an inordinate need to conform, and submit to the ilusion of certainty, when life is fluid and changeable. how can blind faith and adherence to the words of one obviously falible human being be the basis for law?

I'm just wondering what Shirely Roper Phelps is doing right now. Is she still preaching or what? More to the point, do any of you agree with her? This is not a loaded question. I just want opinions?

This is a serious question...for the ones that dress modestly for religious reasons, does the modest dress also apply within the home?
I know some christian women who mentioned they cover their hair indoors as well ...so that's why i'm asking... i know they obviously have sex but is foreplay/looking sexy and all that stuff 'allowed'? sorry, not sure how to word my question.

i know for muslims it's encouraged that the spouses dress up/look good for each other when in private even though lots dress very modestly outside of the home....so i'm wondering if it's the same with practicing Christians and/or Jews who dress modestly

hope i didnt offend.
thanks in advance

And they became Believers?

2006-09-06 13:09:16 · 14 answers · asked by ? 4

Atheists often speak about being good for the sake of being good. They don't believe Jesus is important at all. They disagree with the pope about birth control and other things.

Fundamentalists believe only their interpretation is true. They believe in converting those with different beliefs, even fellow Christians. They judge all people all the time, homosexuals, rape victims, etc. and they KNOW God's will. They think evolution is a sham, and that Adam and Eve were actual people, not metaphors.

Who do you agree with more? The fundamentalists or the athiests?

is it better to TRY to lead a holy life
or
is it better to think that if a person is saved he can do anything he wants or deny Jesus and believe in pagan god...will God accept that....THE WAY PEOPLE SAY THE ONCE "SAVED ALWAYS SAVED" makes other believer that can do anything after they are saved but it contradicts the saying of jesus that a tree is known by its fruit
