I am a baptist and I don't complain about catholics...we are all believers in Christ. I don't agree with a number of their practices, but they can do whatever they want.

The main reason why Baptists attack the Catholic Church is IGNORANCE.
They have no concept of Church history.
They think that the Bible was written by King James.
Little do they know that the Bible was compiled and canonized at the Councils of Hippo and Carthage in 393 and 397 AD respectively. These were Catholic Councils.
Catholics do not worship Mary. Catholics honor her as the spiritual mother of all Christians because we are a family, a Christian family that has stronger bonds than a blood-related family. Jesus is the head of the family, He is our brother and savior.
Ever since Christ established the Catholic Church, people have been trying to bring it down. Even in the 300's the attacks have been coming(Arian Heresy).
Which church has stood firm for 2000 years? Against contraception, abortion, divorce,marriage between one man and one woman, the rights of the poor and defenseless?
Only the Catholic Church has done so.
All other Christians who go to protestant worship halls that are not Churches, rather, they are sects. New ones pop up on virtually every street corner every day.
I will give you one thing that Protestants have done. They have infiltrated the Catholic Church and watered down the faith, especially the Mass. The Mass now looks more and more protestant with all the options being used.
Protestants have been wanting to do away with the Mass and have succeeded for the most part. Most Catholics now don't even know what a real Mass looks or sounds like.
Once the Bishops and the Pope get the guts of the Saints like St.John Vianney, the real Mass(the Tridentine Mass),can be restored and Protestants will really have something to complain about.

"Rcc don't know the bible" this was the statement made by a dear friend who's a Baptist. when we met and talked about faith we chatted and talked about this and that. a day or so later we saw each other agan and he questioned me - where did you come up with that answer. he came in (he & his wife were my new neighbors) and i showed him in Scripture -- he was floored. he said he didn't know Catholics read the bible.
this is a very common misconception. most people are in a denomination that came into existance a rather short time ago. the Rcc came in when people could not read and did not read. so, no most Rcc n the past did not read and took their Scripture learning strictly from their priests. nowadays its not like that at all -- they have bible study just like most other denominations!

I don't know. I know in my Southern Baptist family my mom and the preacher at my childhood church had something against Catholics and few eccentric Protestant churches.

I seems to me that if the Catholic Church is so diabolical, then why did the Baptists accept the Bible from the RCC, who invented it?

There's a lot of anti-Catholic propoganda in some Protestant denominations. Some even go so far as to think the Pope is an agent of the devil. Funny how people get wound up over traditions.

Jealousy ... Because the Catholics are superior..it's the one true church i e, quote Peter " Upon this rock I shall build my Church " @ the time of Jesus & 2006 yrs later it's still there ...they rest of the church's came after that & don't adhere to the true scriptures..There like supermarket christens..pick & choose what suits them....what's cool & fashionable @ the time

because it is the most ridiculous church there is. Think about all the stories they tell. Not to mention that he pope and his people live like kings off of your donations. They used to control the entire civilized world (literally). And you give them your money. Corrupt doesn;t even come close to covering it

Because Catholicism has all these rituals, rites and rules that are NOT Bible based. The worship of Mary is sick. Confessing of your sin to MAN is NOT biblical whatsoever. Catholicism is like a cult.
