Will the Catholic hospital honor the wishes of yourself or your spouse to have recussitation efforts stopped or life support withdrawn? Even if you have a legally valid living will?

There is a difference between no heroic measures and starving and euthanasia so yes. They will. I am a Catholic and I have such a living will.

They absolutely will. I've worked in a Catholic hospital and everyone is asked about DNR (do not resuscitate). We've been in the middle of a code (CPR) and when the family has requested us to stop, we stop. If they're on a ventilator and the family wants to discontinue, we've been known to take patients off.

yes, they have and do. at the age of 28 i established my first living will with the no heroic measures clause. there is, however, one slight difference than most -- they can keep me alive for up to 72 hours once i am legally brain dead and no chances - if they remove support and i die - they can "start me back up" for those 72 hours so that they can harvest any viable organs or get the needed implant recipients close for the transplant.

Yes, I think they will. However, you might want to ask that question specifically of someone who works at the hospital who would know how individual situations are handled there.
