if we did a survey in this section who here feels that christians get bashed more in this site than any other religion. that a majority of the christians bashers are either poking bad jokes on christians or just down right hateful? i am not for segregation, but with this site maybe we should. i am just tired of the misunderstood, hatefull remarks , which most of the hateful remarks dont have anything to back them up other than their not liking us.

to those who wish to share hate or rude remarks. well you just proved my point exactly.

yes i know other religiouns are also getting bashed and i wish it would all stop, but i see more of a trent toward christians. if i am mistaken there i am sorry, but maybe this site shouldn't hane been started at all.

also people who say leave, well this is a religion and spiriturality section. so i have a right in here. lord jesus and god forgive the haters,,,,,,

I know that Christians bash other religions or religious beliefs.

I AM SORRY FOR THAT

I don’t go into their q&a to bash them. So if they bash Christians I have a right to defend myself as a Christian, especially when they say things that supposedly we Christians believe that I don’t as an individual who is a bible believing Christian does.

I agree with you. It is very sad to watch all of this. It happens on all sides and it happens where we are as well as on this site. It's to be expected, I guess.

People embrace the hate the sin, love the sinner mentality... but when people don't see their sin (and we all need to take the planks out of our eyes more than we do before we look for sawdust in other people's eyes), they hate the idea that we think that what they are doing is wrong. Simply saying that seems to make them angry beyond belief.

Believing that other religions may be wrong also makes people angry. People are only ok with everyone if they say that everything and anything is right and permissible... almost. We have a right to believe that others are wrong and they have the right to believe that we are wrong.

Still, they think that Christians were intolerant first... and no one's perfect, after all. Christians should be more forgiving because we have been forgiven. I wish that we could exist somewhat peacefully, though.

For every person who bashes a Christian there are Christians who bash Atheists or other religions. No one is spared on this site as I have found out, too bad. I sometimes get really tired of the hatefulness and think I will stop coming to the site but then I always come back to see what person has asked what question or what person has answered to a question. Those that act like that just keep showing their ignorance and their very small minds. Try to ignore them although I know it is hard to do at times.

Give me a break.

I don't make hateful remarks, but I do point out the foolishness of some Christian beliefs and attitudes.

NO Christian has the right to complain about being "bashed." Pretty much all Christians have done in the entire 2000 years of their existence has been a hell of a lot worse than "bashing" someone in an internet message board. Your religion is more powerful than any other. Stop whining about people being "against" you.

First of all, whe it comes to religion, everybody likes to play the victim. Everybody's religion is the one "picked on" the most. However, if there is some validity to your point, it's only because it's fun to poke fun at the big guy. I mean, we all know that the Mormons, the Scientologists, and the Hare Krishnas are some kooky folk, but there's nothing like taking a shot at the more powerful religions. Now, speaking for myself, I'll be less likely to criticize, say, Hinduism not because I think it's any more valid but because I'm less familliar with it. Christianity is also the religion with the most power where I live (US), so even more reason to cut it down to size.

Can you blame people for disrespecting Christianity. It is perhaps the most violent, hateful and hypocritical religion ever. The amount of atrocities carried out in Gods name e.g. the Spanish Inqusition, the Salem Witch Hunts, The Crusades, The Holocaust need I go on. Although I do believe its not the Christian faith thats to blame, just the ignorance of some of its followers and more importantly its leaders PS I am also a Christian

1: We live in a society where people have the ability to speak their minds, even if you do not like their point of view. This is a very good thing!

2: The Christan religion is the biggest in this country, so naturally it is the one that everybody is going to bash

3: You cannot tell me most Christians do not bring it upon themselves!

4: Every time you complain like this, you are giving those that bash Christianity a pat on the back! Take it in stride, and know that at the very least they had to read what a Christian had wrote, which maybe will rub off on them later on down the road. Who knows????!!!

Christians are the majority, so a few people answering the questions of christians with negative intent makes it look ike you are being bashed by everyone.

read some of the pagan questions and answers, you will see many christians trying to de-value our beliefs and insult us,
long cut and paste sections of the bible, and many "going to hell" remarks.

even when the questions asked were just people looking for some simple knowledge about a dead loved one or such i see a large ammount of christian's bashing them.

prehaps you do not consider the christian responses bashing.
however anytime someone has to make fun of or belittle another religion they are bashing.

there is also a difference between historical fact and bashing.

i am a pagan

if you call me a devil worshiper this is bashing.
if you tell me that god will condemn me to hell this is bashing.

i do not even believe in the devil or hell.

however is i make the statement that Christians tried to destroy Pagan holidays and replace them with their own...

this is a simple historic fact.

you have religious doctrine that tells you that it is Ok to kill us.
we have no such thing,,,,
and to you what i just said is probally bashing....

tolerance is key.

It seems to me that the only reason they get bashed is when the stand on the soap box and start preaching. I have nothing against any religion. However i do have something against people that preach love and peace, then say that anyone that doesn't know jesus is going to hell. When christians do that, and start preaching to people that they (Christians) are better people, and will be going to heaven and not other people, well they are setting themselves up for insults. Just as anyone is that says their race, ethnicity, sex, polictical feelings, sexual orientation, occupation or sport is better and/or the only right way to do things.

Christians bash others too. Lot of people on here bash each other for their beliefs. The reason you don't see too much bashing of other religion on here is because you don't see too many other religious people on here. Many Christians on here act self-righteous and better than others.

Everyone has a right to come in here and post what they want. That is why it is an open forum. I do wish that people respect each other and conduct decent discussion and agree to disagree.

If the non-fundie christians who emphasize love and compassion were to dominate, things would be better. Otherwise, when people see the hate and attack associated with stem cells, gay marriage, agendas to push a christian theocracy, and marginalization of science (evolution), then one can't help but be critical. Let's hope that people like the Episcopalans' Bishop-elect (who accepts evolution and doesn't believe Jesus is the only way to god) become more vocal and give a fresher face to Christianity, just as we hope that the more moderate elements in Islam speak up and present a positive alternative to Islamic fundamentalism.
