If Man would rather God not get the glory for deciding who gets the gift of faith, and take that glory for himself in his own almighty decision for God, doesn't that lead to humanist self-reliance in the rest of his affairs?

My daughter was in a relationship with her best friend's brother's best friend, and it got back to us that her best friend's dad, who is a minister's assistant, had called my daughter a whore. And my daughter is a virgin, and refused to " put out" to her b'f. She is hurt by it and broke it off with the guy, long ago, only to find out that her best friend was spreading rumors. These ppl are very religious and are well known in the community and call themselves christians still. They aren't rich but are better off than us,and are white. My daughter is mixed... Native American/mexican/Irish,and it hurt her. They also look down on ppl that aren't rich or white. What to do?

If god is all powerful, then why does his law have to be "fulfilled" (changed)?

"Also, why does he need the rainbow to remember his covenent with man? 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."

And why didn't he just invent post-it notes earlier, it would be a lot easier then a rainbow?

Alright so genesis has Adam and Eve as the first people, right? (world pop. 2) So then cain and able are born right? (world pop. 4) And then Cain kills able right? (world pop. 3) And then Cain journeys off to the land of Nod with his wife, and she bares him a son. Meanwhile, adam is off somewhere else with eve, because he produces yet another child (Seth) somewhere away from the land of nod. So my question is, where did this mysterious Mrs. Cain come from?

You have faith in belief that humans came from slim and defend it as staunchly as I believe that Almighty God created the universe in 7 days. There are so many gaps in evelution that cannot prove its legitimacy it is a scientific hypthesis that cannot be proven even by its own methods.

I'm not here to bash anyone, but here are some things the New Testament says:

1 Corinthians 11:6
Indeed, if a woman does go without a veil, she should have her hair cut off too.

1 Peter 2:18
Slaves, you should obey your masters respectfully, not only those who are kind and reasonable but also those who are difficult to please.

1 Corinthians 7:21
Even if you have a chance of freedom you should prefer to make full use of your condition as a slave.

1 Corinthians 14:34
As in all the churches of God's holy people, women are to remain quiet in the assemblies, since they have no permission to speak: it is shameful for a woman to speak in the assembly.

1 Timothy 2:11-12
During instruction, a woman should be quiet and respectful. I give no permission for a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. A woman ought to be quiet.

Do you practice/believe all of these? From what Christians tell me, the Bible is inerrant, so you can't say "that was just one man's opinion."

I understand free speech and whotnot, but why be so adamant about trying to turn people into believing what you want?? Why the KKK rallies, why do Jehovah's witness always come knocking at your door?? Why do all the religious groups try to recruit everyone, and tell everybody else they're wrong?? Why can't people have their own beliefs without others telling them they're wrong??

International Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19th. In the tradition of religions stealing pre-existing holidays as their own, do you think Sept. 19th should be made the new start of Ramendan for Pastafarians? It also loosely coincides with Octoberfest, which involves lots of beer.

What say yee?
