I'm reminded of when Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life, NO MAN COME TO THE FATHER EXPECT THROUGH ME"
If we except this as absolute truth, all other faiths are then shown as wrong to us.

Nowhere is the term "Nicolatian" written in other books of the Bible except in Revelations, the last book inn the Scriptures. What does "Nicolatian" mean and where is the term derived from? That Jesus hates it so much.

What is your definition for truth? This is related to religion, don't worry. I'd like to hear everyone's take, but the only thing I DON'T want to hear is " my faith/prophet is the truth." And also, no dictionary definitions.

The Virgin Mary was modest and lived in modesty, covered her body, covered her hair. Did she chose to act as such, or was she oppressing herself? Who are the people today that follow such traditions? Are Muslim women oppressing themselves for choosing to act modestly and covering their hair?

Jesus wore a long beard, dressed in robes, sometimes covered his head. Who imitates him today, what cultures/religions?

A co-worker of mine claims to be both. I asked him if there are anyconflicting ideas between these two ideals and he said no. I don't know enough about either to decide but I would like to know from people who are knowledgable in these areas. I'm asking this because this coworker seems to be saying this just to stand out and be different.

How is is possible that everything all of the sudden with one giant "bang" everything suddenly was thrown into place? and if everything was thrown into orbit that why are there moons that rotate backwards? how can there be such great orginization on our own bodies? Dont you feel alone like what you believe in (the earth) is not enough? If you put your faith in the earth and it is day by day breaking down than isnt your faith breaking down? dont you hav enough signs that your beliefs are false? what about the missing links? Please help me understand this religion!

Consider that the age of the Universe is 13.7 billion years and age of Earth is only 4.57 billion years. There is a big old gap of about 9 billion years -- while the Universe has been sitting there cooking something up.

Is it therefore not such a far fetch to say, some other consciousness would have sprung up and have advanced much further than our own human history? After all it took only about 200,000 years for human to evolve to our current state and we only had about 500 years of science.

BTW, I already know the time specified in the Bible which is more or less of 6000 years, so please do not repeate it at this time.

The so-called Christians who support posting the Ten Commandments seem silent on posting the Sermon on the Mount.
Opponents of the commandments claim that the commandments, among other things, insist on a monotheistic viewpoint.
The Sermon on the Mount is about social justice. The argument is made that social justice is NOT really a high priority for the Religious Right, but imposing their monotheistic viewpoint is.

According to Christianity, God made everything. That means EVERYTHING. He made everything with great purpose. That is to say that nothing he made was a mistake or an accident. Everything, and every characteristic/nature of said things, he made, was done so purposefully.

From my understanding, the bible (the christian god's word) says that if I don't worship him, I'll be tortured in Hell for all eternity. That's not very tolerant of him. He doesn't seem very friendly towards people with other points of view. Why should I worship him if he's going to be so mean and discriminate against others?

4. How did matter get so perfectly organized?

5. Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing?

6. When, where, why, and how did life come from dead matter?

7. When, where, why, and how did life learn to reproduce itself?

8. With what did the first cell capable of sexual reproduction reproduce?

9. Why would any plant or animal want to reproduce more of its kind since this would only make more mouths to feed and decrease the chances of survival? (Does the individual have a drive to survive, or the species? How do you explain this?)

10. How can mutations (recombining of the genetic code) create any new, improved varieties? (Recombining English letters will never produce Chinese books.)

Just thinking about it... I am watching something on the History Channel related to it. Does anyone believe that it can tell what is to come, etc.? They say it leaves relative times as to when the End of the World is to come, but then again, there are writings where it says that the time of the Armaggedon is not to be known.

Any thoughts?

All these questions attacking Christians for their beliefs. Why? Why do the non christians complain about the christians forcing their beliefs on others, while I didn't see a single question from christians regarding other beliefs. It is always the nonchristians trying to force their beliefs on us christians. Doesn't anyone else see this?
