From my understanding, the bible (the christian god's word) says that if I don't worship him, I'll be tortured in Hell for all eternity. That's not very tolerant of him. He doesn't seem very friendly towards people with other points of view. Why should I worship him if he's going to be so mean and discriminate against others?

But the bible says if I don't worship him I'll go to Hell and be tortured for all eternity? That's not tolerant at all. Also, the bible says gays should be killed, children who misbehave should be stoned to death, you can stone your wife to death if you're unhappy with her, and this god person also kills countless people.

I don't see how that's tolerant at all.

Wait. So god loves me and will punish me with torture for all eternity if I refuse to worship him? That's not very nice of him (or her). I don't think I'd want to worship someone that's so mean to people. That's like a husband telling his wife I beat you bc I love you.

It's more about worshiping someone or something OTHER than God!

If you're an Atheist then you shouldn't be worshiping ANYTHING. God can accept that.

Now, let's take a look at the big what if and it is coming and from man's hand.

One day there will be little fresh air, no fresh water, the land will be parched, there may be rivers and lakes of lava caused by volcanos or atomic bomb blasts.

God comes. God REALLY comes, to take the pure and the faithful away and leave the rest to rot on the earth, which may have a temperature of 120+ degrees, no food, no water, little air.

How how many Antheists are going to stand their ground and die martyrs or going to try and convince God they were belivers all along!

Human nature.

You have a shot at an airconditioned environment, with good air, water, nice people, clean everything all you have to do is honor God.

That's a small price to pay.

I want to really see how many Atheists stand their ground, walk up to God and spit on his feet then go back to the river of fire.

MOre important I want to see how many Christains approach God and are turned away because they aren't in the book of life!

It CAN happen.

We don't know for sure what will happen!

God is love therefore if you dont worship Him you dont worship love and that is evil. Tolerance is not a bad thing if it is for as good purpose. I am intolerant of the children being thrown into war in Sudan, is that bad. A big pronblem in may peoples understanding is this. Why would God send me to hell for eternity. Here is the reason. Many dont understand how holy God is and in light of that sin is exceedingly sinful. If you sin circa 3 times a day that is 1,000 sins in a year! Jesus said "if you even look with lust you have committed sex outside of marriage in your heart already", and "if you hate someone you committed muyrder in your heart. God is loving but He is also just. If someone kidnapped your little sister and did terrible things to her and then the guy got caught but the judge let him go you would be furious and rightly so because the judge was unjust and crooked, but God is not. Here si the good news in contrast to all false religions the true Jesus of the bible says that you are saved not by your good works but by His good work in which He paid the penalty for your sin if your turn from evil to Him and trust Hell forgive you and wash you from your sin with His blood in which He was sacrificed for you.

One will suffer eternal punishment for not receiving forgiveness of sin through Christ, the only way offered. God is love, but also holy, righteous and just. He cannot allow sin to pollute Heaven. He offers a way out. If you choose to not accept that way, it is you, denying yourself Heaven. God sends no one to Hell, you choose that course.
"Tolerant" is not in the Bible. It is a buzz word for accepting sin and a sinful lifestyle. So, no, God is not tolerant of sin, He hates it. "Other points of view", hmmm, you mean people who think they know how to run the universe better than God? I guess He isn't very friendly towards others who call themselves god. It is God's universe, God's world, God's rules. You may not like them, but that's just the way it is. He doesn't make His laws by consensus.

There is a difference in tolerating other people, whatever they believe and accepting all beliefs as true, right, and correct. The thought pattern that all different beliefs will get you to heaven is fundamentally flawed. If you hold to a particular belief and someone else holds a belief that is vastly different, even contradictory, to yours, is it logical to think that both beliefs will get you to heaven? And consider the Muslim religion. Does it tolerate other beliefs? I think not.

Ex 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Added note: The Bible is all of a piece. You cannot pick and choose bits of it to argue about. Have you read the whole bible?

Additional note: Jesus does not accept sin.

You need to study the difference between the time under old testment law and the time under grace. Because of our imperfections and human fallibilities, people were unable to fully adhere to the law. They tried and the law system served its purpose for a time, but God is merciful and saw that He needed to find a way to reconcile people to Himself. So He robed Himself in human flesh and came to earth. He gaves us commandments and guidelines and taught us how to live. Then He died to atone for all past, present, and future sins of mankind. He rose again and ascended to heaven (His body that is). Now He gives us chance after chance to follow His plan of salvation and live for Him.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us–ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

However, if we won't take what He is offering us and live for Him, we will go to hell. That is the consequence. He doesn't want us to go there. He loves us. We can get to hell all on our own by the choices we make.

The Bible does not teach eternal torment. This concept is a man made doctrine.
2Peter 3:9 - "Jehovah is not slow respecting His promise,as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentence."
Our Loving Heavenly Father is holding off destruction of this wicked ungodly system of things because he doesnt want anyone to perish. While there are yet honesthearted ones to be found,he will wait.
From your comments you have absolutey no understanding of the Scriptures and that is very unfortunate for you.Jehovah God loves us and wants only the best for us.The first human pair,Adam and Eve,were created as perfect human beings designed to live forever.God placed them in a beautiful garden paradise and provided everything they could possibly need.
Had Satan not tricked Eve into disobedience,we would all today be happy, healthy, lovng caring people, with eternal life to look forward to - no death,no suffering,no pain,no old age.
We only need to look around to see the aftereffects of that rebellion in Eden.
John 3:16 -"God loved the world so much, that he gave his only begotten son,in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life".
So because of His love for mankind,Jehovah God allowed his only begotten son to come to earth as a human to offer his perfect human life as a ransom sacrifice to buy back so to speak, what Adam(also a perfect man)had lost for all mankind, and that was everlasting life.
If you were to study the Bible, you would come to see what a loving creator,Jehovah is and what wonderful promises he has in store for those who want to worship and obey him.

Everybody has had a chance to ask Jesus into their lives, but some just ignore it. God is trying to get your attention because he loves you very much. He doesn't want you to be in hell for an eternity. That's why you should accept Him now.
He loves you no matter what.

The Bible may have some historical facts, but sprinkled throughout it is man-made baloney. That said, we cannot know whether God is tolerant or not because nobody knows God.

1 He's God
2 the Bible tells us he is a jealous God (jealous FOR us)
3 God does not have to be politically correct because of #1
God of gods
King of kings
Lord of lords

I don't see a problem, unless you hate being under someone else's authority.

The Bible tells us theat we are God's cherished possessions.

Actually, if you read the words of Jesus in the bible, his was very tolerant. Nearly all the things that have been twisted and used to promote prejudice and intolerance were said by the apostles.

The Christian GOD is not tolerant of sin. He loves all men so much that He sent his Son to die for others. You have free will and you have the choice to reject this or to accept it. If you make a wrong choice you reap the consequences for wrong decisions, don't you?
It is your choice. Choose wisely.
