You'll find that Jesus also said He was Alpha and Omega in Revelation.

Could it be that Jesus is God?
(That's the only logical conclusion.)

Jesus is not God and They are not synonymous. God is the First and the Last, Jesus was only a messenger of God telling the people to worship God and not worship himself! The whole concept of trinity is made up. Not that there are no trio involved but each is totally separate and independent rather than they are all the same in different forms. Like all messengers who came before Jesus, Jesus was sent by God with the bible to give hope and warn people who do not obey God. Jesus was strengthened by the Holy Spirit to show the people the proof of his message. I can not comprehend why some people -in order to follow the teachings of Jesus- have to believe that He was God or Son of God? Instead of looking at what his teachings were and reason his message! I guess, people throughout history are weak believers, and they tend to exaggerate to force themselves to believe in something. Instead, people should do good, pray to God, and restrain themselves from doing sins! Or else they will go to hell. It is not enough that you become a Christian, Jewish, Muslim or any other religion, It is not the name, It is the BELIEF. You worship God as if you are seeing Him, if you can not see Him, you are sure that He is seeing you.

Because Jesus is God in the flesh. They are not separate.

I am a woman, I am a mother, and I am a wife. I cannot separate the three. God, however, can separate into whatever, whenever he chooses. He is more powerful than anyone can imagine in their finite minds, and also more knowing.

Anything we can think of that could possibly be unanswerable God already knows, we have not been given knowledge of all things, but we do know good and evil.

Well, not to sound repetitive but.......
Because God and Jesus are one. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. They are all 3 God, but serve different purposes in the Christian life.
The best way I can explain it is like this. I am a daughter, a wife and a mother. I am one person with three different roles. My role as a daughter is different from my role as a wife and mother. My role as a wife is different than my role as a daughter and mother. And my role as a mother is different than my role as a daughter and wife.

I hope this answered your question.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

Jesus was the God of the Old Testament. He didn't "become" God, He was God, from the beginning through eternity. He is the alpha and omega.
