The so-called Christians who support posting the Ten Commandments seem silent on posting the Sermon on the Mount.
Opponents of the commandments claim that the commandments, among other things, insist on a monotheistic viewpoint.
The Sermon on the Mount is about social justice. The argument is made that social justice is NOT really a high priority for the Religious Right, but imposing their monotheistic viewpoint is.

It is written in the Holy Bible to post these commandments in certain places.

At the entrance to your Home/place of work (these two were one in the same for most back then) and at the exit.

We were never told to post the sermon on the mount, we were told to live it.

The entire 10 commandment debate began when some God-hater sued to have them removed. So when someone sues to have the Sermon on the Mount removed from a public place, i suppose you'll have an argument.

The ten Commandments are more for government(laws). The sermon on the mount is more for every day life( forgiveness). I hope that I help you understand.

i'm a Christian, not a Jew, consequently, i don't care in case you post the ten Commandments or not, using fact they have been for the Jews and not for Christians. They, alongside with something of the regulation of Moses grew to become into nailed to the go while Jesus died. at that factor the hot Will and testomony went into consequence so God's human beings would not be left with out training. (NIrV) Col 2:14 He worn out the written regulation with its policies. The regulation grew to become into against us. It adverse us. He took it away and nailed it to the go. 15 He took away the weapons of the powers and government. He made a public teach of them. He gained the conflict over them via death on the go.

I agree with you, as I would like to see more emphasis on these scriptures rather than the 10 commandments. Because this teaches us how to carry out a love for others. If more people concerned themselves with these teachings our world would be a much better place to live.

From Matthew 5: 1-11

1Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2and he began to teach them saying:
3"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
