Meaning your absolutly right or your absolutly wrong, no middle ground, no compermises.

I'm reminded of when Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life, NO MAN COME TO THE FATHER EXPECT THROUGH ME"
If we except this as absolute truth, all other faiths are then shown as wrong to us.

That is the thing about Truth, there is no room for speculation or spinning. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and people sometimes dont want to except this truth because they would then be accountable to someone greater than themselves.

Buddhism does not declare itself or any faith as an absolute truth. Neither is it a crutch, but more a philosophy and an approach to creating peace of mind.

And even so, only the most insecure of believers in any religion require their faith to present absolute truth. More mature believers can manage the ambiguity of belief that does not require the rest of the world to mimic that belief.

Most people believe in a religion because it's just a social convention. They usually follow the religion of their parents without judging the basis of the beliefs as a reasonable person would. It's a meaningless aspect of their lives. Did you ever meet a christian who lived like jesus christ?

You can believe in any man-made belief system (religion) and not believe in God. Religion isnt of God and it sure aint gospel but it is a denomination. Christ came and taught us His doctrine and used 40 different authors to write His doctrine in. This was it, this was how it was supposed to be, how we were supposed to know the truth. But man stepped in and brought religion with him. Religion is why there is hate, discrimination, walls, denominations, and confussion in Gods' church today. This is why the lost dont want anything to do with Christ cause we suck as ambassadors of Christ.

Being a Fundamentalist I do believe in absolutes and yes; there are many types of religious faiths that operate for the sole pleasure of compromise. A religious system that strokes their godless fancy and tickles their wicked lifestyle.

I believe the Bible is the absolute truth, the Word of God.

If people understood "absolute truth" there would be no religions since all religions are practices in politics, mind control, and maintaining illusions through lies and misinterpretations.

I'm sure there is some religion out there that will take you. I think Buddha was pretty vague. He didn't believe in God(only westerners think that he did)
