Some people told me that Jesus' crucifixtion established a new law that superceded and overturned the Jewish Law of the time.

Other people told me that explicitly that none of the Old Testament Jewish Law was ever overturned.

I don't have a horse in this race.

These answers came from Christians, but they contradict each other.

Can someone just please tell me which of these Christians was correct?

And don't flame me!
All I'm looking for is one consistent answer. It's not my fault that people are contradicting each other.

How would this affect religion? Especially if one of the ANIMALS on this planet, were discovered to have a higher IQ than man - who was supposedly created in God's image? Although dolphins and porpoises have been used in this example, let's assume that the animal could be any genus or species.

How would religion deal with the fact that MAN has been DEMOTED in the scheme of things, and that one of the animals is actually smarter than man?

I went to The Olive Garden last night and ate a plate of spaghetti and meatballs.

I then realized that the food looked an awful lot like the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

What should I do?

First of all, I'm asking this in the religion and spirituality section because it's a highly debated question on religion.

If we all had an equal amount of time to evolve, why are there still primitive apes living among us? Humans supposedly evolved scattered among the Earth. Darwinism doesn't explain the lack of evolution of apes that live among us. Shouldn't they atleast have evolved a little bit other than being primitive? Yes, I'm bashing evolution this time, unlike my other question. This is a highly debated topic that no one ever brings up anymore. I want to see someone explain this, not criticize it.

israel was re-established in 1948 and it is stated that this generation shall not pass until all is fullfilled (a generation in the bible is 70 years ) so if U add 70 years to 1948 U end up with 2019
........and if U subtract the 7 years of tribulation U will end up with 2012 the last date 4 the inca calendar ? what say U or me ?

History shows that the great nations and societies the world has known eventually came to their end, and one thing that they always had in common before they were toppled by another nation or group was a thriving homosexuality culture where gayness was promoted and embraced. America is at the point now. Does this explain why we are not winning in Iraq and losing respect and influence all around the world? Is it all down hill from here for the country? Can the level of homosexuality in a culture reach a point that God turns his back on those people and stops blessing them.

In the Quran I have noticed that it uses Biblical footnotes and reference Bible verses.

Now, if the Quran is the "word of god" why does it need the aid of the Bible?

If I had a Bible that had Quranic footnotes and references I would burn it.

I was told that Christians don't follow the rules listed in the Old Testament, that they are Jewish Law, not Christian:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060829181920AANVXzc&r=w

But I was also told the Old Testament Jewish laws were never overturned:

I really dont want to go to that church any more, i really liked it there...

Seems like christians spend a lot time talking about jesus. If they were so in league with Jesus wouldn't they trust that jesus could get through to everyone else on his own. What would he need them for if he is an all powerful god?

Most christians can't even name all the commandments.....
Sorry, but keeping the day of the sabbath holy is not high up there on any priority list in highly corporatized America or is it written in law, neither is put no other God's before me, are you kidding America!? Money?!--Worshipping money and materialism are a national pastime. Now, bearing false witness against thy neighbor is highly interpretive. People say that is general 'lying:" I think that is a load of crap...What bearing false witness is is spreading gossip.--it's specific, spreading rumors and gossip.
What are other commandments that are the basis of our laws?

Willys cynical thought for the fugging day;

The only difference between a rut and a grave is how freaking deep it is!

BAPTIST COWGIRL

A cowgirl, who is visiting Texas from Arkansas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. She sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When she finishes them, she comes back to the bar and orders three more.

The bartender approaches and tells the cowgirl, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."

The cowgirl replies, "Well, you see, I have two sisters. One is in Australia, the other is in Dublin. When we all left our home in Arkansas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my sisters and one for myself."

The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.

The cowgirl becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. She orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.

One day, she comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When she comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss."

The cowgirl looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in her eyes and she laughs.

"Oh, no, everybody's just fine," she explains, "It's just that my husband and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."

"Hasn't affected my sisters though." BWAAAHA-HA-HA-HAAAA

MT 27:51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. 52 The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people
Any documents that write about this event of dead holy men walking around the holy city outside of the book of Mathew?
thankyou

Some 46 percent of Americans take a literalist view of creation .... This means that 120,000,000 of us place the big bang 2,500 years _after_ the Babylonians and Sumerians learned to brew beer. (Sam Harris, author of "The End of Faith")

Whether Muhammad has peace or not, in the mythical afterlife was decided 1400 years ago, if in fact Muhammad ever exists, of which their is no real proof.

Understand me? Muhammad, if he ever lived, died 1400 years ago. The moment he died, the issue of whether he was to have any peace, and the amount was decided right there...end of story.

So, you cannot wish, or spell cast, or pray any more peace upon him, unless wacky Allah has set up a mechanical "added peace register" where Muhammad gets another drip of morphine with every mindless expression parroted by a ignorant brainwashed Muslim.
