Ok, hear me out. There are many gaps in evolutionary theory and among some mentioned on this site is the "missing link." Provided that no evolutionist is reasonably sure that they have found the missing species commonly reffered to as the "missing link" yet many believe that some day they will have the answers. Some day they will see the un-seen. Couldn't you call this faith? In contrast, Christians and creationists can't wait to see their creator. So do evolutionists hope to one day discover a new Homo-* ? Yet many evolutionists and atheists alike criticize the idea of having faith in the un-seen. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

I keep on hearing about how every prophecy told in the Bible has come true up to this time. What was the last one that supposedly came true and what is next?

This was an issue early painters of religious subjects had; a sprig of foliage with the fig leaf usually got around the problem. But. . . should they?

Do people know why this is a FALSE gospel?
Christ came into the world to do the Father's will.
The Father sent Christ to be crucified.
Because of Christ's atonement, all men will be judged by him according to their works (as opposed to not receiving a judgment at all and being cast out of God's presence by default, Nephi 9:8-9).
Those who repent and are baptized shall be filled (with the Holy Ghost, Nephi 12:6), and
if they continue in faith by enduring to the end they will be justified (declared "not guilty") by Christ before the Father, but
if they don't endure they will be subject to the justice of God and cast out of his presence.
The Father's words will all be fulfilled (cf. D&C 1:38).
Because no unclean thing can enter the Father's heavenly kingdom, only those who rely in faith on the atonement of Christ, repent, and are faithful to the end can be saved.
This is "the gospel."

God made man to speak in different languages and go to different places on Earth because of a tower.
We have been to the top of the highest mountain, orbited the Earth from space, built skyscrapers , What do you suppose GOD thinks of that?

Then it uses the word "lay" when talking about sleeping with another man? Are the "wrongs" mentioned in Leviticus meant to be conceived as less harsh when interpreting lay versus the phrases that specifically use sexual relations? There is obvious "measuring" going on with the verb choice, isn't there?

If someone loves God and leads a lifestyle consistent with their beliefs is that a religious nut?
What about the aspect of sharing? If I lost 50 pounds and people ask me how I did it, I'll tell them about my plan or pill or the gym I go to and no one thinks I'm a weight loss nut. If God is "working" for me-I have peace and joy and live a life of generosity why wouldn't I share what I've found out with people I know or who ask?
I mean, I know there's nutty people out there...for example every time I meet someone who likes to go camping they try to convert me (my position is that if I paid the rent why would I sleep outside) the extol the virtues of sleeping in a tent and sleeping bag and nature and bla bla bla and inisist that I have to go camping their way, then I'll be convinced-that's not what I'm talking about.
Ok, that was a tangent, but you know what I mean right?
Where's the line between a religious nut or a Jesus Freak or whatever and just a person living out their belieifs?

Why do so many people believe in the bible even though it was written by man? I get that "god" told them what to write but it was still written by man. And we all know man(as in mankind) has a way of putting their own perspective on things...

And don't you dare call me ignorant...I'm just asking a question.

I'm dating this really awesome guy and his religion is a very big part of his life. I have never been baptized. I think this may pose a problem in the future. What do you think you would do in this case if you were me or him. I really am interested in being baptized but dont know what to do about it. I have my own beliefs but am interested in his as well. I really think that a relationship is possible with him on all the other levels but this level is very important as well.

I have been aware of my past lifes over the last few years and at first I thought I wasn't being true to myself whenever the type of people my past life is drawn to differ from those I am drawn to.
They 're not too different( they seem to more into acting, etc when the type of people I am drawn to are more regular semi artsy people who happen to have great wit) but in order for me to get anything done, he has to be happy. The thing is though, if I was my true self, I wouldn't get along with them as much as my past life and so my true self and my past life friends can ever meet and I also have to not make my past life aware that he is one when I am hanging out with them, so how do I live properly?

Is it that it involves love and women are more suseptible to sins involving love than men? Wasnt the way that Satan tricked Eve was becasue he convinced her that God loved her too much to let anything bad happen to her if she sinned against God?

Its seems that power is Satans ultimate lore for men and love is what is used for women.

With regard to the applicability of Old Testament Laws to modern christianity, this answer seemed most honest to me:

"I'll just answer the best I can, I'm no expert... Yes, we disagree on it, that's why there are sub-sections of Christianity. The only explanation is that people believe what they believe, and that's that... It's the same reason that there are different religions, I guess." by pseudonym [sic]

This strikes me as a very honest answer, and one that makes a lot of sense to me.

Christians, is she correct?

If so, why did people attack me for asking about the contradictions between christian belief systems and just openly and honestly acknowledge them the way that pseudonym did?

Instead of killing the messenger, wouldn't honesty have been the best policy?

Wouldn't that have been the Christ-like thing to do?

PS: pseudonym, you have the Best Answer, once i can credit you with it.
