This was an issue early painters of religious subjects had; a sprig of foliage with the fig leaf usually got around the problem. But. . . should they?

I'll say yes just because I can't imagine a human without one!

No, they should not. The belly button is the sign that you have been born of a mother and a father, and Adam and Eve were created by only a father ergo they do not have belly buttons.Or think of it in medical terms if you rather. The belly button is the place the umblica cord used to be while in your mother womb. the doctor cut it right after you were borm and tied it off, depending on how well is if it is in or out. As Adam and Eve were never in a womb they would have no cord to be cut, and thereby have no belly button to show.

Is that gonna change the way you see the things? Does it really matter if they did or didn't have a belly button? Are you aware that no one alive could've seen Adam and Eve to answer that question?

Adam and Eve were not REAL people. They were just symbolic of early humans.

"Adam" means Man

"Eve" means Woman

Well, man was created in the likeness of God. And God has a wicked belly button, so why not?

No they shouldn't, since they were created as adults, and not as embryo's inside the womb, having to use the placenta for nourishment.

If Adam did have a belly button, it would be full of lint from the dust that he was produced from. :)

Depends on the look you're going for. I say paint 'em both with "outies" and see who catches it!
