That seems like an awful statement that I'm fairly sure no woman, former Muslim or not, would say. I question your validity, sir.

Do you all remember when the Taliban took over Afghanistan. They are Muslim extremists. There were women who were doctors there and business women. Afghanistan used to let the women be uncovered. After the Taliban came, the women lost their right to work outside of the home and had to be covered. Head to toe. I still have some of the articles. I felt so sorry for the women. Not every Muslim country is like that, but it seems the Muslim extremists are the ones doing the suicide bombings and kidnapping and killing people. They are the ones we hear, Iran, etc. The Koran, says they are allowed to beat disobedient wives. I'm sure she called them goats, because the only thing goats are good for is mating and milk, and being led to the slaughter house.
Some guy yesterday, said he was getting his rocks and stones ready to throw at the young Muslim lady in the beauty pageant. How nice is that.

To Shani above- We all know that women and children get abused, but our religion doesn't promote it. It is against the law here. In Iran you are allowed to kill your sister if she shows her face outside.

I AM MUSLIM WOMAN AND:

I am EDUCATED, I have a Bachelor's Degree, I am a Writer for a Woman's Magazine, and I am a Teacher with the Public School System. I also have run my Own Business--and I Hired Men to work FOR ME.... I am Intelligent, Beautiful, Sucessful, and I make my own decisions in life.

The Prohpet Muhammad's first wife, Kadijah, was a sucessful Business Owner of a trading company. She hired HIM to work FOR HER...The Prophet also placed women in leadership positions while he was alive. He was a good man, and he treated women fairly, and with kindness.

In the Quran, one of the great strories that are told is about the QUEEN OF ETHIOPIA---The Great love of King Soloman. The Quran tells of how she RULED MEN, and she ran her Kingdom!

Sadly, Muslim men of TODAY have turned back the hands of time. For some reason, many of them have this twisted idea that women should be invisible and oppressed. I dont know why they think like that...
But please note that my father, and many many Muslim men treat their daughters with great equality and respect. My father supports ALL of my career goals, and he is a Muslim man.

Real Women know that God is a Good, Kind, Loving God of Justice. God created women with Intelligence, Beauty, and Wisdom. Real Women that Islam offers them Peace and Success.

I DONT cover my hair, because THAT IS MY CHOICE--but I respect and love my Sisters who do cover. I don't allow anyone to pressure me into doing anything I dont want to do-- I have the right to make up my own mind!

I am a Strong Woman--and I dont let MAN, WOMAN, OR CHILD abuse me, use me, mistreat me, or take advantage of me.

If you think that Muslim Women are some weak, timid little creatures that you abuse--then you better not come next to me, because you WILL Get a Wake Up Call.

Peace

OK here's a doubt I've got about Islam, can you stop being Muslim?
Anyways, how come women are goats?

Hey Ahmed! Why are goats chosed here? Is it some kind of bad thing to be a goat? They call Christians sheep here because they just follow the herder and don't think about what they are doing. I am not saying that is true. I am just stating why some people call Christians sheep.

Well, Islam certainly treats women as if they are goats...so I fully expect many Muslim women to ...at least think that way, .... and if they have the freedom would certainly agree verbally also.

100% right. Irshad Manji talks about this as well in the many books she has written, like "the trouble with Islam".

I remember talking to a Muslim woman after 911 and asking her why she believed. All she kept repeating was how all other woman were whores and how she loved hijab. I never mentioned anything about dress, all I asked was "why islam", and thats the only reason or babble she gave.

It was then I started to get Islam and why some woman actually think its great....they are the insecure woman, the same as the ones who were filled with jealously in your school...in the shadows with their insecurity....just simmering....

nope, I am a revert and i'm just fine. I bet she only converted to Islam to marry a Muslim and when he figured that out he dumped her now she's taking out all her anger on the women who truly believe and can be in a successful relationship with a muslim.
It is probably her with the low selfesteem, people with a good sense of who they are don't resort to name calling, she's just trying to make herself feel better!
