because, there is absolutely no proof to support evolution!
what those that deny creation call evolution is merely the simple observation of the ADAPTION of lifeforms.
There is not even one example of any lifeform that:
1. Was not preceded by life.
2. That over any amount of time "evolved" into another lifeform whatsoever.

Evolution doesn't always mean one species is completely replaced by a new form. Sometimes part of the population of a species may adapt and become evolved while the rest do not evolve and stay the same. There could be many reasons for this. Environment could cause a change in species. Let's say there's a certain species of mammals that live in the cold, perhaps the ones born with a little thicker fur live longer and mate more than the rest so eventually the population of that species end up having a little thicker fur on average. This seems like a extremely insignificant change, but evolution is a very slow process. It could be that some apes have not evolved because they never had to. They were prospering in their environments with their current genetic makeup. The population of apes has gone down over the ages though. I assume as hundreds of years pass and humans expand more and more, apes and other animals will continue to be killed off.
Then again sometimes I don't know if we really have evolved... have you ever seen a human acting like a monkey... sometimes I wonder...

it isn't debated for the same reason that the earth is round or flat isn't debated, because only nut jobs doubt it.
You disagree with evolution but dont have the slightest clue what evolution is.
Apes have evolved to fit niches in their environment. lowland gorillas and different from highland gorillas. Chimpanzees are different from Bonobos. Why haven't they evolved past that point? Because there is no environment imperative for them to evolve. In the highland of Rwanda there isn't much farming land so human dont do well there but highland gorillas do. Consequently there are highland gorillas living there and not humans. In other words their form fills the niche that is required in that particular environment.
the generally accepted theory is that we came from Africa and not scattered through out the world. Additionally you seem to think that we evolved from apes, which we know we did not. This is fundamentalist propaganda to discredit the evolutionary path of man. We both evolved from an apelike creature. Further more evolution is not a theory, that particular exact path of mans evolution cant currently provide an airtight 100% assured path, which isn't surprising as we are dealing with events over 100,00 years ago.
I strong urge you to read Darwin origin of the species, it is very accessible , it is logical a,d i promise you will not grow horns and a tail and be claimed an Satan's minion if you do. You need to know what you dont believe.

>> If evolution is true, why is it that apes co-exist nowadays?
For the same reason there are millions of species on earth, all thought to have evolved from bacteria. But nothing prevents that apes might extinguish after a few hundred years.
There is a theory called "distinct evolution".
A group of animals seperates itself from its species and forms a horde to live apart. This group can form a new species while the others coexist. When a species becomes endangered it either (a) adapts or (b) is extinguished. In theory only two animals (from different sexes) are required in a sexual reproductive species.
The reason why apes have evolved to man was because the apes must have moved to a location where there were less trees. This forced a different posture and shorter arms on them. At the same time they were being threatened by dangerous predators. As you know (most) apes swing in trees, but on the ground surface they don't get anywhere fast. Unless they are muscular like gorilla's, they are physically an easy pray for predators, but their intelligence was not. This must have caused them to develop tools.
(Some monkeys have the ability to develop tools. It is proven that a monkey can grab bananas when locked up in a cage by the use of a stick. Other animals don't have the intelligence.)
As these species, known as hominins and homos (p.e. homo habilis, homo erectus), grew they created more sophisticated tools involving stone. As they grew, their brain size increased. This process took millions of years.
Even today we sense that intelligence increases and you probably wonder how the difference in intelligence between species can be so huge. That is because when the intelligence increases, a creature's life becomes more complex, it gains higher feelings. Man continues to evolve, but soon it will come to an end. Genetic manipulation will replace evolution.
There are probably hundreds of possible explanations why species mute and others don't. For one, they could be infected with viruses, chemicals or radiation that mutes their genes. Another is the difference in environment (as we saw above). Why do you think that people now have different behaviors? I believe it is because they have a different socio-economic background, live in different cirumstances, have different genes and brain structures.
If you truly doubt the evolution from ape to man, then ask yourself these questions:
- Why do man and chimp have more than 95 % DNA in common?
- Do Gorilla, man and chimp have a very comparable body structure?
- Man, chimp and gorilla are tought to have the same ancestor. This seems quite logical, as gorilla's can defend themselves with their strength, chimps can climb in trees and what could man do against predators? He could develop tools. Hence, their inteligence increased.
- Man continues to evolve. There are multiple races even today (black, caucasian, eastern, etc.).
In my opinion there's no need to prove it. I watch a chimp and I know it is a relative.
>> Darwinism doesn't explain the lack of evolution of apes that live among us.
You are correct when you mean that the entire evolution chain is not complete. There are some gaps in the evolution theory of ape to man. Bones are not found of every species that has ever existed on earth. Continents move and evidence could sink to the bottom of the ocean or be destroyed by erosion or natural disasters.
Below you can find the evolution from ape to man.

>>Yes, I'm bashing evolution this time, unlike my other question. This is a highly debated topic that no one ever brings up anymore.
The reason why so many people believe in evolution is because:
- microevolution has been proven - the evolution or mutation of a species
- many animal species show common characteristics in genes, behavior and body
However, macroevolution, the evolution from one species to another was never proven. This is the reason why some - in my opinion - don't believe in evolution theory. Personally I think it is the most solid theory there is here on earth, as it based upon observations (bone structures, gene mutation and evolution in species) and logical assumptions (macroevolution as an assumption is based upon microevolution as an observation).

There are many, many millions of species on this planet, including humans, apes and our other primate relatives. We are all very distant cousins, having evolved from common ancestors long, long ago. If you have a cousin, that means that you had a common ancestor. No problem there ... except that ignorant Christian bigots have succeeded in keeping science/evolution/biology out of the public schools, so that people like you don't understand even the simplest concepts of science.
By the way, what gives you the idea that apes are primitive and that humans are advanced? Apes co-exist with their environment, while we are busy destroying it .. doesn't sound very advanced to me.

You're an idiot. Try to think BIG. Consider how many different species of primates are around today. Isn't is possible that there were even more species tens of thousands of years ago? And perhaps that one of those long-gone species was the common ancestor to man and ape? Also consider that evolution happens over millenia, not centuries. Science as we know it has only been around a few hundred years. That's like trying to ask why the oak tree you planted yesterday hasn't grown to full height yet. Are you honestly stupid enough to think evolution happens fast enough that we'd be able to see it going on?? How do you know that all species today aren't evolving but the process is just to gradual for us to be aware of? You can hardly be "evolution bashing" if you're this ignorant of evolution, so it's time to do some reading I think.

Apes evolved. They just did not evolve into humans. Why do you assume that the logical evolution for apes is human?
Ignore the science. But, do us a favor. Ignore the benefits of Darwinism, like medical science that recognizes the evolution of bacteria and viruses. Refuse that vaccination. Refuse that antibiotic.
Come on. Why should viruses and bateria evolve? If viruses and bacteria are like apes, you should not have to worry.
Take a chance!

*sigh* I'm not a huge evolutionist ( I believe in it though ) , so please no one yell at me if I'm wrong. We didn't come from apes. We share the same evolutionary root as apes. They really aren't that primitive compared to many species. They have opposable thumbs and from what I understand complex thought. The apes among us however haven't evolved further because there wasn't a need to. Once competition is gone evolution may not proceed in one way.( I think. ) Obviously they've adapted to their conditions pretty well since they're still around. ....Oh and I forgot! - They are probably still evolving too. I think just about everything is evolving, but we on the other hand may have just shot ourselves in the foot as a whole species by maintaining the lives of those around us who would die without technological advances/artificial selection.

The idea that human evolved from apes is a common misconception, and it's that misconception from which this question proceeds. In real evolutionary theory (not the watered down version that we were taught in school), it's said that pongids (apes) and hominids (humans) descended from a common ancestor (which is no longer around). So, the reason that apes and humans coexist is because both groups have been evolving for roughly the same amount of time, only along different lines.

Exactly-bc evolution is a big lie! There's NO way I can explain how evolution is true when humans that supposedly evolved from apes co-exist with apes that stay, well apes. Evolution is a load of crap. Yes, it's an interesting idea, but it's just not true. It's not even a theory like we are taught either. Theories are testable and, ideally, falsifiable. Evolution is neither, so therefore it is simply an idea.
Evolution is not all that you are led to believe. There are all kinds of problems in the fossil record. New theories are being raised all the time to account for why there aren't any undisputed transitional forms found between any species of any kind, anywhere, anytime in all the fossil record.

Study the theory, and you will never ask that question again. Heres my quickie answer.
Evolution is driven by the environment...evolution is not a design, its the opposite. About 6-8 million years ago, Africa's climate changed such that, what was once all or mostly jungle, developed large stretches of savanha.
Thus, apes that remaind in the thickly forrested portion of Africacontinued to easily escape land predators by swinging from branch to near branch. However, the apes that lived in the changing portion of Africa, didnt always have tree next to tree, so, over time, the ones that survived to spread their genes, were the ones who stood taller and could see predators from further away, thus having enough lead time to make it to a distant tree.
Conclusion: Those apes remaining in the UNCHANGED jungle, stayed the same...those apes of today.
