Is homosexuality a sign of the end?

History shows that the great nations and societies the world has known eventually came to their end, and one thing that they always had in common before they were toppled by another nation or group was a thriving homosexuality culture where gayness was promoted and embraced. America is at the point now. Does this explain why we are not winning in Iraq and losing respect and influence all around the world? Is it all down hill from here for the country? Can the level of homosexuality in a culture reach a point that God turns his back on those people and stops blessing them.

WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR PEOPLE TO CLEARLY READ A QUESTION BEFORE ANSWERING IT?

I didnt ask if homosexuality CAUSED a nations end. I asked if it was A sign that a nation is at the end of its power.

Example: The gas light coming on in your car didnt CAUSE you to be low on gas...it is A sign that you are about to run out of gas.

LOL! (Sorry, I think you're serious, but I couldn't help to laugh at that.) What cultures had thriving/embraced homosexuality that fell? Can you point out more than a few examples? I can hardly remember one culture that embraced sexuality (some Native Americans do come to mind though). They didn't ALWAYS have these in common. Many many nations and societies have been toppled. You can't base such an argument on a few. I definitely don't think it's the end of days.

Your question begs the answer by its very fframework.

You inferred a commonality (homosexuality) that existed in all the "great" nations prior to their end. This in turn suggests that somehow homosexuality, whether as a cause or a symptom, was associated with the ends of those respective empires, thus raising the inference that it might be with us as well.

Further, your last line, "Can the level of homosexuality in a culture reach a point that God turns his back on those people and stops blessing them..." presupposes that homosexuality offends God (presuming there is a God!) and that, further, such "blessings" (presuming we have them!) are going to be withdrawn by this same alleged God as a result of proliferating homosexuality.

Therefore, it is not unreasonable for those in this forum to call your question for what it is: Homosexuality=destruction of nation by "God."

All in nature is as it should be and in truth America does not have the highest rate of homosexuals. There are tribes of people all over the world that beleive it is alright for persons of the same sex to lay with each other before they are wed and thus ensure lower rates of unwed parents. Is this a sin? No. For them it is a part of their culture and they in fact do not even have a word in thier language that means homosexual. The wise men of their tribe never have married and continue unto death with only other men as mates. And they live a lot longer than Americans do. For that matter America did not win Vietnam either, but this was not due to anyone being gay. Our soldiers must obey orders and if their hands are bound by them, they can not win. Pure and simple.

The UNIted States Inc. is on a collision course with judgment like she as never known, this also includes the people that make up the UNIted States Inc. Homosexuality, as another poster stated, is not the soul reason for America's problems. SIN is the reason. I see it on the TV and in the streets. People have no sense of morals, they lack any consideration for authority or for other human beings, perversion and sexual immorality is everywhere (homosexual and heterosexual alike), crime is at an all time high (our prisons are just filled with people), and child abuse is on the rise! You can't just blame homosexuals for the down fall of America. I do believe that we are certainly in the end times and soon Christ will return.

We have to remember that America was founded on Christian values, and because of political correctness and liberal thinking, we have grown to accept all kinds of sin. Yes, America is going to fall and it is because of our tolerance of sin that will lead to our demise (not to mention that it is also a reason that other nations hate us). Until we can get a clue and turn back to God in repentance I just don't see any hope for us.

I would not look at thriving homosexuality specifically, but rather thriving sin in general. To pick out one sin or sinner over others totally misses the point and breeds hate. What about the thriving porn industry or drug and crime rates, women being raped and children being butchered by their own parents? Is this not also an accurate picture of society going downhill?

Its been around since man was created. The greeks banged young boys and it was totally acceptable. They also encouraged it to bond so they would fight hard to protect there lovers. It was all the rage, until the romans converted to christianity and screwed themselves with too much excess in the opposite direction of their former orgies and excesses. Even children were used as sexual objects in those days. Whatever floated your boat was okay in those days. The bible's view on morality screwed things in the opposite direction of immorality i.e super-morality. Over indulgence in any direction is never a good thing

Well, I can see from where you are coming and it does make sense. But, I don't think so. Perversion has been around for centuries. And, God has let many societies fall. I don't think he would turn his back on entire countries because of perversion. After all, all people of this nation are not perverted. I do agree that it's probably all down here from here, but not necessarily because of homosexuality.
