For being the devil's advocate, we Christians are sure glad that you are taking up the fight. Where do you get nonsense like that?

They can't?? I believe it; I just saw one that couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time...ha ha h.. oh wait, that was a mirror...ahhum...

Actually, I believe the rule about wearing the wool and cotton together applied mostly to the Levitical priesthood (in the Old Testament). And according to Peter's vision (in the book of Acts I think) all things are fit to eat...even the creepy crawleys (ugh)!

But it's a good question. I think alot of people get stuck trying to figure out just how the Old and New Testaments relate to each other. But if you stay stuck, you miss the real point: IT'S ALL ABOUT FAITH. And if we had all of the fun questions answered in advance...it wouldn't BE faith. The fun really is in the journey, and the seeking and the occasional discovery of real treasure. So keep on asking!

Hoping the best for you...

It mentioned that you can't mix linen and wool. Back then that's the kind of fabric that they wore. Imagine being in the Middle East wearing wool or wool blends. You will sweat, emit a foul odor and stink up the Temple. I live in a very hot climate and I would never wear wool, period. It makes me itch. God told the twelve tribes of Israel not to mix linen and wool. He told the High Priests of the tribe of Levi not to wear wool inside the temple because they would sweat. Unless you are from the twelve tribes of Israel, do you really think that's it's necessary to avoid wearing wool blends? Here is another reason why God forbid the twelve tribes of Israel from wearing linen and wool. http://www.mountainretreatorg.net/faq/why_did_god_forbid_mixing_linen_and_wool_threads.shtml

This is found in the book of Leviticus. It's somewhere close to that favorite verse of gay bashers. Could it be that Fundamentalists selectively quote the Bible?

Different cloth: Leviticus 19:19
Shellfish: Leviticus 11:10-12

some things in the bible are outdated, those things at the time the bible was written probably had some logical reason for it, but nowadays i don't think it matters, i think the shellfish thing was so that people wouldn't get sick, and i just don't know about the wool and cotton thing its probably because they were never in season together

These rules are in the Old Testament, so many Christians feel that they are exempt. However, some Christians still use exerpts from the Old Testament to justify things that they otherwise cannot explain. Of course, this hypocrisy does not apply to all Christians.

constructive dream yet enable's be authentic...that is by no ability going to take place. There are different information on the thank you to circumvent sexually transmitted illnesses. and you seem suggesting that during basic terms "authentic" Christians wait until marriage - human beings of different religions do besides, you recognize.

Heh, I was just reading that today.
Answer is, depends on if you're a "real" christian or not. Some of them say "NO...Jesus came, and now we don't have to do those things anymore" and the others....who are just going to change the subject....
Which ones are the "real" christians? I dunno.

LOL Katy =)

I heard about this. Some Christians believe that we're not suppose to eat scavengers like shrimp sounds weird but I know some religions that branch off of Christianity believe this.

true regarding lev 11:9-12 making shell fish an abomination

read matthew 15

in the same chapter and almost same verse where jesus says heh what you eat doesnt defile you, he says sexual immorality does

so

but

the bible is interpreted correctly in its entirety that you can eat shrimp but that the fictional god still hates gay people

read thou, i said fictional

so,

its in matthew 15 he removes dietary restrictions,
