Why don't you help me with this experiment: In your Bible, your god says that anything you ask for in prayer, he will give you. I am asking that you pray for your god to strike me with a thunderbolt. I will go outside and wait for it.

If no thunderbolt comes, then the re,evant passages regarding prayer are ALL LIES. OR your god is too feeble to send even static electricity. OR he doesn't exist! You can decide which it is.

Certainly your god-- if he even exists-- can't allow me to mock him with impunity. Certainly my mockery annoys you. Sp pray to your god right now to send a thunderbolt. Don't let me continue working against him! (And I WILL!)

I stopped being with the church for 3 weeks and I am not going back. I need words of "encouragement" from anyone, to tell me that I did the right thing. I was thinking "how cool is it to become an atheist", where I wouldn't believe in a God so whenever I fail in life, I have only MYSELF to blame. I just ask a question about Atheists & agnostic on this site on religion, Now since I have ask a simple question, You see how many gets upset. To all that answer so far, not one of you have hurt my feelings, To answer some of your questions in reply to my question, I am not someone special, & yes I know this is a open site to all, & no I am not trying to push my ideals down your throat, & I definitley know there is a difference between Christianity, & religions, & Spiritualality, & if you had answer this question 15 times, I was not online to see it. It does not bother me if atheist or anyone get on this site. I was just wondering. I don't even talk to anyone about Christiananity unless they ask me first, I keep my mouth shut until I'm ask in person, I am not one of those forcing my beliefs on anyone. Adultery is having sex with another while married. My question was about why is sex out of marriage is banned when such activity is not mentioned in the bible beyond onanism. And yes, I have read it. Religiously!

has the thought ever crossed your mind that there may be a reason the people of the Muslim nations hate us? Are you aware of what we did to them in Afghanistan? We told them that we would support them in their resistance against Russia, and in exchange we would help them rebuild their country after the war was over. Osama Bin Laden was trained by our military in that war. Were you aware of that? That's why the guy is so pissed. We welshed on the deal. I am not advocating his brand of violence as I believe violence is never justified, but this problem will not be solved with bombs. If you do not believe me, do the research yourselves. Can we be the bigger person (figuratively speaking) and admit what we have done, and try to make amends?

According to experiments done in controlled and uncontrolled evironments, an explosion 100% of the time causes destruction never construction. It is not logical. What do you have to say?

The world was ruled by a monarchist system then and that is how the men of that time established Gods Kinddom-there needn't be anymore said-it is easy to see that it was established to abide by the same format that was in effect at that time and it offered a semblance of the same order to follow-There is no kingdom of God as it was a form of government that was set up by man as a way to rule-We in America have proven that We The People are a more effective government and so I tell you true that the Kingdom of God is not a real thing and you need to reevaluate your life if you have chosen to follow this man because he has established himself as a liar that is now working on killing the world due to his WORD. It needs to be outlawed as a format for governing a free country-and too allow it as a self righteous act and in keeping with The Constitution the Church must become a voluntary act but have no authority upon the workings of this countries legislative residuals-Freedom of Religion!

It wasn't until the 16th or 17th Century (specifically in England) that the term "sodomite" ceased referring to the ancient residents of Sodom and Gomorrah and began to more and more refer to homosexual men, lesbians too were called sodomites and, technically, everyone -- whether heterosexual or homosexual who engaged in oral sex or anal sex were also sodomites. earlier masturbators were also included as sodomites originally but they were later given their own name onanist's..well it doesn't leave many people out does it...you've probably all been guilty of the sins of sodom at one stage or another in one way or another.

I posted an answer to a hateful and venomous question about Jews in Yiddish because I thought it was appropriate. I said "Kush meer in toches" "Ver derharget" and "A broch tsu dayn lebn!" and some raving lunatic got offended that it couldn't understand what I said and reported me and they removed my post (what cowards!). So here's a translation: "Kush meer in toches" means Kiss my ***! "Ver dergarget" means Drop dead! and "A broch tsu dayn lebn!" means A curse on your life! Now it's understandable, okay?

It clearly states in Ezekial 18:19-20
19" `What?' you ask. `Doesn't the child pay for the parent's sins?' No! For if the child does what is right and keeps my laws, that child will surely live. 20The one who sins is the one who dies. The child will not be punished for the parent's sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child's sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own goodness, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness.
So I don't really get the whole Catholic tradition of "origable sin"

The Christians I'm addressing are little more than ignorant savages being lead by BIGOTS that preach hatred for any who dare be different from "the norm" and like the Nazis use these scapegoats to keep their flock in line. that's why a 19 yr old friend of mine was attracted with baseball bats and probably will die just walking to work, for the crime of being gay.

I have asked several questions directed at the christian faithful, and while I am a non-believer, I am still someone who seeks knowlege. My question is why do christians get so upset and defensive when anyone asks questions about their religion. Asking questions is how on gains knowlege....like the scientific method.
I can ask the same types of questions to other religious groups without the defensive attitude but for what ever reason christians seem to either quote scripture or become irrate....please enlighten me.
