It clearly states in Ezekial 18:19-20
19" `What?' you ask. `Doesn't the child pay for the parent's sins?' No! For if the child does what is right and keeps my laws, that child will surely live. 20The one who sins is the one who dies. The child will not be punished for the parent's sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child's sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own goodness, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness.
So I don't really get the whole Catholic tradition of "origable sin"

Well, first off, it's not just a Catholic doctrine, but one used by many Christian religions.

Second, no, I don't believe in original sin. Never did.

"Original sin" is not really a sin, but a condition of human nature. Left to our own devices, we are selfish, vengeful, proud, untrusting, etc. We are not in perfect communion with God because we are self-centered.

This first occured in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve decided to trust not in God, but in themselves.

It is through Baptism that we become reconciled to God and are made sons and daughters of God. We have that original sin removed and become a new creation.

You can read more about the doctrine of original sin in the Catechism of the Catholic Church at http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/p1s2c1p7.htm#388

I believe in original sin. We aren't punished for it, it's just something that exists in us. The power to sin. I mean, name someone who hasn't sinned! If Adam and Eve wouldn't have sinned, then our eyes wouldn't have been open to the world of sin either.

If there was such a thing as original Sin then the Atonement of Jesus Christ did away with it, or the atonement wasn't universal.
