Why do alls these Christians go on about adultery etc., where there is nowhere in the bible that says you have to be married to have sex?

The foolishness of presumption

Men and women who think themselves wise will often in their own conceit presume things that bring ruin. Presumption is born of pride. Concerning our lives and our service to God, many religious leaders in their arrogance have presumed things about God which may or not be true. If they like something, they presume God likes it.

The truly wise do not presume such things. They accept God at His word and with humility and reverence accept what He has revealed. They give Him that which He has authorized.

It is so typical that we often "do not miss the water until the well runs dry." We take so many things for granted when we ought to be thanking God each day for what we have in our nation.

Proverbs 16:25 - "THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT TO A MAN, BUT ITS END IS THE WAY OF DEATH."

I've made four observations, in reference to a familiar passage:

1. Some things are not what they seem.
2. Man is not the highest surveyor of life.
3. Sincerity doesn't stop consequences.
4. A wrong choice can lead to death.

Now, in view of these things -- WHAT OUGHT WE TO DO! If some things are not what they seem ... If man is not the highest surveyor of life ... If sincerity doesn't stop conse-quences ... If a wrong choice can lead to death ... WHAT OUGHT WE TO DO! We ought to be sure of every step we take. We may be sincere ... but wrong. So, we need to be sure we are right!! And, if we have a copy of God's Word, and we rightly divide it and apply it, we can!

We cannot depend upon what SEEMS RIGHT TO MAN. We must place our trust in WHAT IS RIGHT, TO GOD. For, "there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." Now -- WHAT PATHWAY ARE YOU FOLLOWING TODAY ?? Are you sure that pathway is right?? There is a way that is right, and cannot be wrong. There is a pathway that leads to all the spiritual blessings you need ... A road that leads to heaven.

Jesus said, "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER, EXCEPT THROUGH ME," (John. 14:6). Examine the pathway you are on now, and make a change if you need to!

God established His Truth. We have it in the New Testament and it consists of both commands as well as examples of how to carry out His will and intention. God's truth remains the same whether people perceive it as the truth or not. In fact, the Lord Himself even said as He revealed it that a great apostasy would come (1 Tim 4). This would occur because men would lose the right attitude toward the unchangeable truth of God's word. When their hearts, or attitudes toward the revealed standard of God's authority changed, then their practices, and even their terminology changed. That is why "parties" and "divisions" came to exist. Not because there is a pattern, but rather because of man's cavalier attitude toward it.

Sex outside marriage is either ADULTERY or FORNICATION. It is what you called, "2 wrong people doing the right thing"

The bible does talk about adultery. Once married, sexual relationship is restricted. Adultery is when two people have sex where one is married. The adulterer and the adulteress are both stone.

Girls that are betrothed that have sex with anyone other their intended husbands commit adultery. Girls were betrothed around 12 years old. And her virginity is the responsibility of her parents.

I think the covers sex as it is presented in the bible. I did not bore you with verses. Why bother with verses since it is obvious you since you didn't read the book.

Really? Maybe you should look really close to the Bible old and new testaments. Sexual Immorality is prevalent in both texts.

Sex is designed specifically for married people. THAT IS SPECIFIC.

1 Corinthians Chapter 7

Read the whole thing - the whole thing! Not just a part.

Next read the Song Of Songs or the Song Of Solomon. Same book different titles.

Next and last book to read in Proverbs and that will let you know about Sexual Immorality.

You are correct - there is no specific passage that states that. I am guessing that those that said it did are either:

1. Reading a 'localised' version of the bible
2. Guessing or mis-interpreting passages.

Christian morals - like those of most religions - are set high and with a reason. Basically, if the populace were morally weak then a lot of infighting would spring up causing disruption and splintering of established communities. This would weaken the powerbase resulting in a lack of approval of those community leaders (read: Religious Leaders) which in turn would mean an erosion of the said leaders powers and therefore their control of the populace.

You see thats what religion is all about at the base denominator : Control.

anything against Christianity????????????
bible does very clearly state in the ten commandments that thou shall not comit adultery. thus although there is no mention of marriage but it clearly sends the message of honesty, trust and sincerity towards ones partner since it forms the basis of a relationship

The basis for marriage is in Genesis: God created male and female and saw that it is not good for man to be alone.
And the commandment to be fruitful and multiply assumes the idea of procreation.
Prostitution is mentioned in the old and new testament.
There are some things that you need to resolve with members or leaders of your church that arent in the bible.
Adultry isnt the same as pre-marrital sex.

Monogamy for humanity has shown to be the best relationship for women and men throughout our history.

Yes. There are exceptions, but real statistics reveal that procreation, child rearing, and emotional health are significantly enhanced within monogamous relationships.

Polygamy, harems, and other aberrant relational system tend to be outcast because of power issues, dominance, and manipulations.

Human natural creation tends to reveal the success trend of the species of what works and what does not over time.

1Thess.3:3 For this is what God wills, the sanctifying of you, that you ABSTAIN from fornication.

Ephesians 5:5 ...Nor fornicator.... has any inheritance in the kingdom of God.

1Corinthians 6:18 FLEE from Fornication. Every other sin that a man may commit is outside his body, but he that practices fornication, is sinning against his own body.

i dont believe in "the bible" .. mostly because it was wrote in a time before technology.. marriage, just like the bible is a man made institute, designed to make money. i think true love conquers over marriage.. i dont need a piece of paper to prove my love..just honesty & commitment
