has the thought ever crossed your mind that there may be a reason the people of the Muslim nations hate us? Are you aware of what we did to them in Afghanistan? We told them that we would support them in their resistance against Russia, and in exchange we would help them rebuild their country after the war was over. Osama Bin Laden was trained by our military in that war. Were you aware of that? That's why the guy is so pissed. We welshed on the deal. I am not advocating his brand of violence as I believe violence is never justified, but this problem will not be solved with bombs. If you do not believe me, do the research yourselves. Can we be the bigger person (figuratively speaking) and admit what we have done, and try to make amends?

I targeted Christian Americans because of my previous questions. It seems to me that alot support the acts of violence that are being committed in the Middle East. Beyond that, the Christian comprises a massive majority in this country.

No. In the culture that wars with America to surrender is to embolden weakness and domination.
Jimmy Carter proved this in the late 1970's, Reagan proved this in the early 1980's in Lebanon, Bush Sr. proved this by not following through in the early 1990's, Clinton proved this in the 1990 first World Trade Center bombings, USS Coles bombings, and the African Embassy Bombings.
There comes a point when a country MUST defend itself. Sometimes for PEACE you must fight the aggressor as the aggressor fights.
Truman was RIGHT in WWII. Saved millions of lives, by showing the enemy how terrible WAR can become.
Our current enemy may not get any other message as well. Unfortunately, some cultures need to be totally defeated before reason ensues.
I hate to even think about this, but after so many attempts I am so not certain that peace can gain any other way.
Sorry.

Being a Christian American from our president's home state, I understand what you're getting at, but there's a few things I disagree with, one is that bin laden's anger has more to do with the fact that Saudi Arabia allowed the US to use their land to launch attacks on Iraq. Bin laden declared war on the US because we the "infidels" attacked Muslims using the two holy sites. The american government does admit the in the 9/11 commission report about the Afghanistan-Soviet war.

Violence creates more violence. Violence is wrong. I don't think anyone can claim violence for a religious reason. That inherently is evil itself.
Said that, I do understand why Muslims hate America. The same reason I hate America. Forcing opinions and beliefs on masses of people. They are a religious country. We are supposed to be separated from church and state. Our government is supposed to have nothing to do with religion. So why are we forcing our beliefs on Muslim nations? Why are we trying to change them into us? We're inflicting on their religious rights and beliefs. So we have freedom of religion here but because Muslims have oil they don't get that?
We need to disregard religious nations and pull all of America out of those nations. They don't want coca-cola and KFC. So we shouldn't allow them there. If they want to be a sovereign nation with no ties to us telling them how to live their lives than we should grant them that. We said "hey we'll help you better your country" they said "do it and we will slaughter your people in the name on our religion". We just said oh well let's start a war.
Our government and country is little more than a christian fuelled machine trying to conquer the world. This pure evil fascist attempt at taking over other religions and countries is pure lunacy if you don't see it. Religion has no place in government, but since it has place in Muslim governments... we have no place with them.
Let us fix our own government and own country before we go fixing theirs. We have more problems here than any country in the world. Though their few might be worse, we have more of them.

Do some research. The only reason Afganistan won against the Russians is because we supplied them with weapons and training, which we did.
And, I'm confused, usually when someone says "in exchange" they mean both parties give something. In your reference, we were to support them in their war with Russia (which we did) AND rebuild their country, but that kind of sounds like a one-way street. Deals usually have two sides. What were we suppose to get in return? Why would Osama be mad at us, we did exactly what we were suppose to do, then he turned on us. He used us until he got what he wanted, then turned on us. There's no making amends with him, the man is a murderous, insane, monster, the world we be a much better place without him. He sends poor, foolish, gullible young men to mass murder and suicide with stupid promises of sex in heaven. Amends? Get real.

I don't understand why some people seem to think that we as Americans are the evil ones. The fanatical Muslims want death to all Americans and death to all Christians. We should all be thankful that we live in a free country where we can make our own decisions. We have freedom of speech, freedom of religion and are free to live our lives the way we want to. These are all things that we seem to take for granted. If you think America is so bad, why not move to the Middle East and see for yourself how much we as Americans have to be thankful for. We need to protect these rights and I feel that is what our country is trying to do.

The Muslim hatred for Christians is as old as time, and it will more-than-likely not go away. Christians have a tendency to try and force their beliefs on others, sometimes on a global scale. Case in point, the Crusades. There are quite a few more past examples of Christians trying to control the "Holy Land". Both religions believe their motives to be pure, thereby "justifying" their cause for war.
I'm not saying that either is right, or wrong, it is not my place to judge. But, isn't religion based on tolerance????? A little food for thought there.

And we promised to help the Shiites against Saddam Hussein, then did nothing as he bombed the you know what out of them.
Our actions in The Middle East and throughout the world are often not very Christ-like. It is no wonder that so many kind, God-loving Muslims do not like our country very much.
(thanks for sharing the information)

Define Christian? Real Christians aren't cruel. We don't intentionally do things to harm people. I don't drive around with a chrome fish on my car and cut people off in traffic and give them the finger. I don't claim to be a Christian and then decide to beat somebody up at a bar that I had no business being at. I think you are referring to what I call "hypo-Christians" Absolute hypocrites! Those aren't real Christians at all. Just like George "dubya" Bush. Yeah sure, some Christian he turned out to be. Killing innocent people every day for his greedy gain. Muslims think Christians are horrible because of the Americans that claim to be Christian and then are really no more good then Satan himself. Plus they look at America "God's Country" and they see a bunch of sick Satanic Perverts that make all Americans look bad.

We did what we promised when we helped the Afghanis defeat the russians. We promised nothing more. And the extremeist in the middle east hate us because of who we are....not what we have done. Those muslims would kill us even after taking money out of our hands. Thankfully "those muslims" are not all muslims.
