Ummmm, if you know anything about Christianity, you know that it doesn't say that anywhere in the Bible.

I think you might be confusing what you're thinking of with The Great Commission where it says we are to go out and be witnesses to the ends of the Earth baptizing people in His name and teaching them everything that we have been told.

THAT scripture is in Matthew, chapter 28, verses 16 - 20.

It doesn't say that Jesus or God gave us the power to forgive sins in his name. It does say that some were given power to heal and cast out demons.

But nowhere does it say that we can forgive sins. Only God can do that through his Son Jesus.

Mark 10:1 "And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease."

Mark 16:14 "Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Jesus didn't give just anyone this power. it was given to His disciples after He rose from the dead:

(Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

- John 20: 21-23

This power has been handed down through time to priests through the sacrament of Holy Orders.

No man, by his own power and authority, could possibly forgive sins. Only God can do that because sin is an offence against Him.

According to the bible, Jesus could not forgive sins, and will not forgive sins in Heaven. He paid the price for sin, he didn't forgive sin. So, he had no such power to pass on to anyone.

The reason you can't find it is that it doesn't exist. The only way to have your sins forgiven is to talk to God about it. No human has the right to forgive sins, ever.

No I don't, but I know that priests can forgive our sins in confession because they are close to the Lord.

According to scripture, only God can forgive sins, and He only does so through the propitiation for sin that was Jesus Christ

There is no such line in Scripture. The closest is, "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I shall build my church...."

St. Matthew xvi. 13
WHEN Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
