I mean, even the big bang theory doesn't say it just came out of nowhere, everything could have always been here in some form or another, maybe strings if you like the string theory. How it was organized isn't the question right now (although it can be explained), what I want to know is why it is easier for some people to believe God always existed than it is to believe in strings (mathematically backed up to an extent). Is it really just because that's what you were taught? Or did you think it up on your own? And you should read into entropy before you use it in your argument. Also I don't see why people think it had to have a purpose, diamonds happen on accident over around 600,000 to billions of years (around 3 billion I think) and again, as an accident. I really want some one to explain to me how they reason this, it seems like people just can't accept that they don't know how it happened to me. Maybe we'll never know but religion sounds like wishful thinking.

when ahmed dies and is raised on the day of judgment, how will God treat him for his anti-Islamic propaganda and the lies he writes about the Holy Prophet? I think he will have a special punishment... one that is quite terrible. Especially since not only does he have nothing good to say about Islam, he has nothing good to say about anything else.

Moral Relativism states that there are no absolute truths, for example whatever is right for you might not be right for me. This violates the law of non-contradiction. By saying there are no absolute truths, the statement itself is claiming to be an absolute truth. There is truth out there and it comes from the word of God through Jesus. What say you?

I am starting college in a new city, and I want to start going to a Catholic church (I haven't been to church since I was.....11 maybe?). I need to take adult classes, I never had first communion.

I don't know anyone who is Catholic that I could ask to be a sponsor, so I'm a little embarassed to ask at church for help, that is, I can't ask someone I hardly know to be a sponsor, right? . How can I handle this?

That's why I've been putting off going back to church...
thank you.

Is it likely that the intolerant, the bigots, the fundamentalists will drag all mankind into religious wars that wipe out the human species?

Most religions require members to believe that their "truth" is the only truth and all conflicting beliefs must be shuned. Is intolerance of others' beliefs a prerequisite for being truly religious? Are you either intellectually liberal or religious but never both?

Alot of people have been posting about Jesus and getting into heaven. most say, that he's not nessicary and that God is merciful and forgiving to everyone no matter what. I've got a better question to you all, If God was so merciful and loving, why would he not contact man? All these posts talk about God as some far off being that cant be reached. it's like he's there but not there. let me tell all of you guys something, if a creator spent the time to create this universe and every cell and organism in it, he would bother to make contact and attempt to make a relationship with his creatures. it's stupid to think of God as some far off being, b/c he's not. God created the world, man sinned and seperated themselves from God. God wanted to be connected so he sent Jesus. Jesus is now the bridge to God. Heaven is just a bonus, not the reason we need to be believing. We should love and serve God not to get to heaven, but to love and please our Creator. Jesus Christ is the only way to God

For God to be perfect and all-knowing is to create a universe within himself, and a universe is never alone.

People take the bible way to literally. The kind of God they believe in accepts everybody. There is no unforgiveable sin. Despite what all the Christians say. He will accept everybody.

There are thousands of species of just beetles. Why would god take the time to create so many if he did not like variety? So why would it not be safe to assume that he/she/it likes variety from worshippers too? Why would there only be one way to get into heaven? All rivers flow to the sea.

Hypothetical question only. No evangelism please.

Say I was arguing with somebody about how a glass of water got on a table and I pointed out 5/6 of a finger print that matched a guy named Mike and concluded that he probably did it but don't know for sure because I wasn't there. And some one else said the glass was put there magically let alone the finger print because he read a pamphlet that said it was so he knew it happened that way. When I ask how he proves this he say that I can't prove it didn't happen and the fingerprint was only 5/6 full. Who wo the argument? Don't talk about how the analogy isn't perfect, I know, and I'm not trying to convert anyone, just trying to inspire thought. By the way, I know not everyone is like this and thank you for that. So regardless of religion answer the question honestly, who won the argument?
