God doesn't come back to kill heathens. God have given everyone of us a choice. God knew that we needed a savior to give us a way to experience eternity. God sent Jesus to save us. You can choose to believe, or not. That is your choice. No one can choose it for you. There is only heaven or hell. You must go somewhere. I would love to see that everybody goes to heaven, that is why we care about your souls. Something has happened or something didn't take place for you to accept Christ as your personal savior...and I am not talking about boom I believe now I am going to heaven kind of saving, I am talking about whole heart, I know that there is another place, I love christ and I want to help others--sort of saving. We care because we want to share the joys that we have knowing there is something better and bigger than us to you, and have you experience that joy as well. Love that is never-ending, joy that lasts eternities, death and then life, not just death and then hell. We know what comes after death, and though I have never seen hell, and I won't ever see it, I have read about it and I would never want anyone to go there. Not anyone in a million years...

Because God will not kill you if you become a Christian and the only reason we do that is because we care for you. If you saw a blind person walking in the middle of the road and a truck was coming strait for him, would you not try to save him before it was to late? Atheists are those that say that trucks do not exist and eventually get struck down.

If God is omnipresent, where is He coming back from?
Where did He go?
Perhaps you mean "if Jesus is coming back...?"
(and let the debate over whether Jesus and God are one and the same commence)
As far as why Christians care, the religion is allegedly one based on compassion and is complete with the charge of spreading the gospel.

Because we are to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40). To obey our faith, and do what we are told, we must love all who are our neighbors, and all are our neighbors. The Great Commission, Christ's command to Christians, is also found in the book of Matthew, verses 19 and 20. Go, make disciples and teach them the truth.
In short, we care, I care, because of love.

My question is this: if they gloat over the demise of the heathens, will God slay them for being prideful?

God never left...He cares about you because you are his child. People of all faiths say and do really stupid things. You are just as important to God as any Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Atheist or whatever.

What God would hate us at all?
If we don't do as some religion says, then we were never real, we were just created to be cord wood in some eternal flame, and all our life was nothing but wasted time. No one loved us, we never loved, and it was all for nothing.
What a depressing outlook. Why would any one want to chose to create God in that image?

If God ever was, did she ever leave?
Christians are full of hate and they gloat that they are going to heaven and non-Christians are not. Their heaven is my hell. Can you imagine spending an eternity with a bunch of sniveling, groveling, whining, backbiting, holier-than-thou, intolerant, smug, condescending, bigoted, hateful Christians? There has to be a better place even if it is a few degrees hotter.
