We are not interested in Changing your name Stamp or your dress.. We are interested if you want to serve God ?

If your answer is yes then you are welcome .. There is much depth of knowledge about God than any where else in the Vedic Literature.. This system has been based on very scientific way of learning and advancing in god consciousness...

Some may tell you that Hindus worship monkey, rats etc, but they are far far away and do not even know abc of Vedic Culture...

Anyway there is no conversion in Hinduism.. There is only Initiation, for those who are very serious about knowing God...
You can begin by learning Bhagavad Gita before to understand what Vedic Culture is all about from a bonafied Teacher and then take any decision if you want to get Initiated...there is no hurry...

We don't promise that if you get initiated, you will achieve all successful and freedom from all Sins and achieve Miracles etc, No Bluffing ...Its only the first Step ..

It will all depend on how you follow on the path... Of course the Results are there, but it depends on How serious you are....

If you are seriously comparing choices, check out "The Joy of Sects", which is a good overview of most of the world religions, in a non-judgmental fashion.

The two are very different religions, and a special challenge for you if you are a westerner is in understanding how much of it is the religion and how much is cultural tradition. In short, you need to figure out what you must be comfortable believing, and not get caught up in any of the trappings.

Be yourself. Explore. Read. And if you need to think about it for a while without making a switch, check out Thich Nat Hanh's book, "Living Buddha, Living Christ". I realize that his book is about Buddhism and Christianity co-existing, not Christianity and Hinduism, but I think you may find it enlightening.

Good luck with your search. If you should find that you return to your Christian beliefs, you will be the stronger for having chosen it instead of inheriting it; and if you do not, you will at least know more about different things.

Peace

In Hinduism you are free to believe in what you want. No rules or regulations or that you have to go to temple on Sundays and all that. No sabbath. If someone tells you about worshiping cows and monkeys and rats, they are full of crap. Hinduism is a philosophy and no one converts to it. Nowadays they make a show of it. There is nothing Hinduism that talks about conversion or how to convert a person. It is not a proselytizing religion. It is your choice as to how you want to find God or the Supreme being. You are not taken on guilt trips of repentance and that someone sacrificed his life to save you from sin and that you will be saved and all that nonsense. It is free will.

Jennifer, if you don't know something shut up. I have been to India and have never seen such a thing. Maybe it is you who is eating rat poop and drinking rat pee to talk and spout crap. You have spoken like a true Christian who is ignorant and intolerant.

Hindus are more tolerant than christians, but thankfully Hindus dont accept converts, last i checked you had to be born into Hinduism unless that has changed......

christianity started because Jews and Hindus both did not accept converts, and someone got angry and jealous and decided to accept everyone no matter what, but it really made a mess of things when everyone joined because a lot of bad apples started to ruin the rest of the bunch.

i don't believe of you want to do something formal. purely get copies of the texts in case you do not have them yet. per chance there are Hindu businesses in that community which will sense extra welcoming. If there's a temple of a few type i'm particular it will be welcoming. there are countless faculties of concept in Hinduism, so it is going to genuinely be exciting to study all of them. also, per chance there are some meditation of yoga practise on your community. have exciting =)

I think you're talking apples and oranges. Hindus meditate a lot and have a relaxed attitude. Christianity has Christ in it.
