People take the bible way to literally. The kind of God they believe in accepts everybody. There is no unforgiveable sin. Despite what all the Christians say. He will accept everybody.

Why shouldn't you take the Bible literally? Because it wasn't meant for that. You can't take it word for word. You actually have to read what is being said and look for the true meaning of the words. People who can't do that have no understanding of God.

There are so many things I want to see, but one very important question I have for all these people that say the only way to heaven or God is through Jesus Christ. If you believe in God, then why do you make all the people that don't believe in him outcasts? The God I know of accepts everybody because if you only believe in him, then you believe he created everyone on this earth. Not just Christians who are too ignorant to realize not to take the Bible word for word. He created everybody, there for he accepts and love everybody. He does not discriminate. The Bible was written by man or do people forget that and over the years it's original text has been changed to fit other people's needs and beliefs. That's why you can't take it literally. Sorry that's more than one point, but I have a lot to say on this subject.

I completely agree, the very concept is that God loves us all equally, and then they come telling you there are rules and conditions for the love....
I believe everyone will go to heaven, no matter what their earthly life brought.

So many people believe this because they believe the Bible. The Bible is an authoritative work, but only if you believe what it says. And if you believe part of it, you must believe all of it, or else you discredit the entire thing. It is all or nothing; either you believe or you do not.
When you say "the kind of God they believe in accepts everybody" you are partially correct. God will accept everyone-everyone who accepts His Son as their personal savior. But, without Jesus Christ, no one is acceptable to God. That is why God allowed His Son to die on the cross. If the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ were not necessary, God would not have allowed it to happen, and in fact commanded Jesus to suffer the way that He did.
You are also partially correct in saying that there is no unforgiveable sin. But the key word is unforgiveable. Forgiveness only comes through Jesus Christ; that is what the Bible says.
Read the Bible and you will find that despite what modern culture is trying to do to the image of God, He is not a tolerant deity. He is perfect, and can only accept perfection in His presence. Without Jesus Christ we cannot attain that perfection, and therefore cannot be in God's presence.
There is no other way to "take" the Bible other than literally. As soon as you allow the Bible to be something other than the literal God-inspired truth, you take the significance away from it.
Have no doubt; there will be a reckoning for each and every person. When that comes, you want Jesus on your side. Don't take my word for it, look and see what God says about it.

Hi RoswellDreamer
Thank you for your question and statement.
If you are referencing to the hell where evil people go when they die and are tormented for ever and ever there is not now nor will there ever be such a place. So I say that people which believe and teach of such a place are ignorant of the fact that neither Jesus or God the father never told of such a place. Therefore they are not really following Jesus are they? They do not take the Bible to literally, they take what man tells them to literally.
Read it for your self the wicked will be burned up and become ashes.
Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Mal 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
Check it out after the resurrection they are cast into a fire and burned up. This is the second death. Eternal punishment not eternal punishing.
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
It was an Italian Florentine poet, Durante degli Alighieri, better known as Dante Alighieri or just Dante, June 1, 1265 – September 13/14, 132, created the idea of the hell that is taught to the world. Through his stage play la Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy) the whole world has been and is being decived about a place that does not exist nor will it ever come into being.. The Divine Comedy describes Dante's journey through Hell (Inferno), Purgatory (Purgatorio), and Paradise (Paradiso). It was only a play, the works of the imagination of a man. However the Roman Catholic Church took the idea and ran with it and has long since convinced an unsuspecting world that
the writings of Dante are indeed an acurate rendition of a place of eternal punishing of all evil people. God is in total disagreement with the Catholic Church and all other that preach and teach that there is an ever burning hell, a place of eternal punishing, a place where the evil go after death.
Another thing which you may have been lied to about is that Jesus did not know what he was talking about when he said.
Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. However the so called Christian world tell us that Jesus was laid in the tomb Friday just prior to sun down and raised Sunday morning. Is that Three days and nights?
It is not wise to trust man, not even me, therefore I ask that you read the scriptures and prove wheather I or anyone is correct when speaking about God.
Jesus was not born December 25th. He was born in the month of October. the simple way of knowing is to count, Jesus was killed in the month of April, He was 33 and one half years of age, count six months until he would become a full year older. There is another method but is goes much deeper and requires much time. Pay no attention to want to be Christians. I wonder what other things the world has lied to you about. If you should find yourself in need of other answers my e-mail is cogbao@yahoo.com. Have a good and happy day.

Yes, there is no such thing as an unforgivable sin, but forgiveness must be accepted. Yes, God will accept everybody who WANTS to be accepted.
Why do so many people think that if you don't follow Jesus Christ you will automatically go to hell? Because we take the Bible literally. Why shouldn't we? No, really... why shouldn't we?
Eternity is a very long time. Make sure you're on the right side of it!

Modern organized religion is all about control of people like a shepherd controls his flock of sheep. The basis of this control is by instilling fear in the masses. Accordingly Jesus did not hang out with the rich and famous nor did he teach his doctrine in a million dollar shrine. He would hang with beggars, prostitutes and thieves
or what we would consider the scum of the earth types. The bible says he may come as a thief in the night. Yes people do take the bible too literally. I am not a Christian but I do read the bible. In my spiritual path there is no heaven or hell but I do believe in an afterlife just as we are living today but on another plain of existence parallel to the world we know.

Dearest Roswell,
Because it's TRUTH. The Bible is the Word of God and Christ's words were recorded by many. He was the one that said,"I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except by me."
There is one unforgivable sin. Blasphemy (cursing) the Holy Spirit. The spirit is a personality/spirit. He has feelings, as it says He can be grieved if we turn away from God too long, and our hearts become too hardened.
Christ also says "Some will call my name, but I never knew them." Please don't play around with these truths. Eternity and separation from God is a long time.
Please look at First John, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand. Everything I shared is scriptural.
God Bless you in your search,
Darcel

Tell me something, what would be the benefit of making up such a story as His? If Christianity is not the truth, why are there still so many believers in it? Why is it that to this very day the bible still cannot be proved false. Jesus is God. He has given himself as a gift to mankind to be redeemed. It's a gift, accept it. He did it for you and everyone.

People believe that because that is the basic principle of Christianity. In my opinion, God SHOULD except everybody, but the truth of the matter is, He doesn't. That's one of the things about religion that turns some people away. The fact that you are judged by sin instead of by how good of a person you are is one of the faults of organized religion. Well, that and the fact that you are expected to give money at church.

It states in the bible,' Whosoever believes in me (Jesus) shall not perish but will have life everlasting.' So it stands to reason that those that do not believe will perish. There is no unforgivable sin, but it also states do not sin knowing you will just ask for forgiveness. Since you are not a Christian, I know that since you put down the Bible and that is what Christianity is centered around, you truly do not understand what it is to be a Christian

You should get 10 points for your question!
I have never agreed with anyone on here as much as I do you!!!
I wish I had the right answer for you though! "Those" people just don't understand that god is the only one who can pass judgment on us and forgive our sins. I feel that they think that it is their place to do so, if we do not do what they say! I am not an atheist, but I don't feel that it is necessary to go sit in a building with a bunch of hypocrits every Sunday.

I don't believe in God but I do think that if there were a God, people who followed the Bible word for word are the farthest from the truth. I tend to respect people like you who can use their head to pick out what your supposed to from the stories more than people who just blindly follow it out of fear or ignorance.
