What benefit is there to being a devout Muslim compared to a devout Christian? Compare and contrast.

It did not take long at all for Christians to blast Islam. Toward the end of the 22 answers so far, I obtained some interesting information. Thank you.
It is interesting that both Christianity and Islam believe that going to heaven is very important. I'm not so sure it is a value that should dominate my life. I prefer to help others live more fully here on earth and make this a little more heavenly.
I'm still looking for benefits of conversion. I do not want to trade one set of bigots for another.
Christians do a serious disservice to Christ by making inflamatory statements about others' religions. Where is love thy neighbor. Gone with a Republican government whose dominant family value is greed?

1-No Belief Confusion
Chrisitanity says one God and then make it three, so one or three?and you can easily name more confusive questions.

while with islam you won't have this confusion at all, its just one almighty God, who is always one. and never dies not even on cross.
if you are looking for peace of mind,go for islam

2-Authenticity of Book
there are dozens if not hundreds of version of the Bible,,beside the 4(out of 32) different Gospels though that Jesus came with one Book. Yet none can prove that any of the versions is the real one Jesus came with. read more on http://www.islam4all.com/new_page_32.htm

With Islam you got one Book which was both written and memorized at the time of Muhammad. that book is yet the same and you can find that one book any where. and muslims could prove to you that there book is what Muhammad came with.

3-Having both Science and Religon
the gap between science and chrisitanity know to everyone.Wheras Qur'an had actually encouraged science and exploration as could be read in the teachings of Muhammad and seen over the islamic history especially in its golden age.

4-Gettong more motives into living a healthy life,, you will get more strength to quit unhealthy practicies as its against islam,,,for example quitting smoking and alcoholism. Also getting introduced to fasting which aids alot into weight loss.

there is no difference at all in freedom at all. im a muslim woman and i am very well established be it my education - of this world and God's world. i work at an MNC and have had education from an irish presentation convent. islam has asked me to do what i want. i can or not wear an hijab. my husband treats me like a princess. people see only one side of the thruth becoz the media is showing false info.

both islam christianity follow the same faith but, muslims just consider Jesus-pbuh as prophet like all others from adam to muhammed-peace be upon them, thats it,.

its not that muslims do not count jesus-pbuh, he is as important to us like adam, abraham ,david, moses, solomon, aaron, muhammed-pbut.

i'll tell u something, that u should read and understand quran with an open mind and understand it. if u read it with an intention of finding faults then u will never be able to understand it and u will always find faults.

and also if u think people are too good then see for urself what people are doing. u should check this video, infact every american should check this video, if u are really thruthful and walk in the path of God. i will say that every person should see the thruth and then decide who is at fault. please do see it. it will open ur eyes. its a request that people should know what media is hiding from the people of america.

america u are being cheated by the people u trust so much and the person who directed this is none other than a person from ur own country. plz see the video.

there are many people who say that islam is fake, but when Jesus-pbuh comes he will tell u the thruth what islam is about.

You would have a much truer religion than you have in Christianity. You could understand that Jesus was a Rabbi (teacher) perhaps a prophet, and not G-d, or the son of G-d. We are all the sons (and daughters) of G-d. If I were you tho, I would study Judaism and Islam both, and go from there. Either religion might be right for you, and either would be a good choice---whichever one is right for you.

The compare and contrast? I think my first two sentences do that.

In Islam they are still waiting for their savior...in Christianity the savior has already arrived. No real benefit..both believe in God.

All religions have their own bible or holy book. All were written so long ago, and long after the incidents had happened, some from word of mouth, some from memory, therefore none are truly accurate. Each group has their own traditions, ways of seeing things, and ways of doing things. One updates with the times and the other stays as old as 2000 years..

As far as our heavenly Father is concerned, there would be no benefit, as the key word is "devout" , assuming the devotion is to God and not the man-made dogma associated with a particular faith.

Personal benefit can only be known by the person experiencing.

Well, it shouldn't come down to what's more benificial, but by which one you think is really the divine path to God. Really, both offer a sense of hope and a sense of community. and actually research the religion, don't go by the opinions of some of the ignorant xenophobes who don't know anything about the religion, like some of those who posted above me.

There is NO benefit whatsoever. Muslims do NOT believe in Jesus, and HE is the ONLY way to heaven. Jesus himself said" For I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO ONE comes before the Father but by ME". Converting to the Muslim religion only paves the way to Hell. I'm sorry, but that is the ABsolute TRUTH!!!

You wouldn't benefit in anyway. You'd be regressing. To find out how, read the Koran and get information on Sharia law and the Hadith.

too many misconceptions above... OMG... from where do these people get knowledge of Islam?? Ofcourse their corrruptt media shows such things.....!! I feel sorry for you guys----

Killing yourself is not allowed in Islam, Killing any innocent person is not allowed in Islam.......

"If you kill one innocent person, you kill the whole humanity"

And about 72 virgins, they will not be rewarded for blowing innocent people--and thats declared!

another misconception above is that we dont believe in Jesus..... WHY THE HELL THEY ARE SPREADING LIES???

our faith is not complete without accepting JESUS (PBUH) as a PROPHET (not god or son of god) he was prophet for us!

now you will get heaven by converting to Islam.. what else do you need????? I am saying it, once and for alll... ISLAM IS THE RIGHT PATH!
