In fighting terrorists by bombing them? Futhermore, since Christ taught us to turn the other cheek, how is this message so horribly misconstrued? When we take the life of a man, his son will grow up to follow in his fathers footsteps. These are people, flesh and blood, not monsters, and they will respond to kindness with kindness. If we examine why most of them are angered with us, and find a way to make amends for it (they do in fact deserve at least an apology) wouldn't that take the wind out of their proverbial sails? And before I am asked...
If killing him were my only other option, yes. I gain nothing by taking his life, except creating another terrorist. His children will grow up fatherless, and be lead down the same path. Perhaps through my sacrifice he could learn that we are not all evil.
Regards,
Will
This was the response to a question I recieved in an email. The question was, "would you really give your life to save a terrorist?"

The Feast of the Assumption was originally celebrated as the "Memory of Mary" and was centered around Mary's tomb, and there were no other relics of Mary to be venerated.

At the Council of Chalcedon in 451, when bishops from throughout the Mediterranean world gathered in Constantinople, Emperor Marcian asked the Bishop of Jerusalem, St Juvenal, to bring the relics of Mary to Constantinople to be enshrined in the capitol.

The Bishop explained to the emperor that there were no relics of Mary in Jerusalem, that "Mary had died in the presence of the apostles; but her tomb, when opened later, was found empty and so the apostles concluded that the body was taken up into heaven."

At the time there were no statements against this assumption.
Catholics believe that Mary had no sin including original sin. (She was recognized for being full of grace and blessed among all women, hence the title "Immaculate Conception".)

Lets ban all religions across the world, share the wealth equally and just be nice to each other. Wouldn't it make for a more pleasant lifestyle. Who agrees?

My understanding is that Islam was actually the First religion. This is according to old scripts found and what not, second were the the worship of the sun gods and such, and then came the following of Christ which was the starting point of Christianity.

Is this true, and if you can answer yes what is the basis of you answer?

Our church is trying to reach out to the town that we're based in. Very few of us are residents of this town. As we plan our "service projects" we often find that what we want to do is considered illegal. You can't hand out free beverages on the street corner. You can't knock on doors and ask if people need free lawn work done. We aren't asking for donations and we don't expect to get any new people into our church because of this. We just want to show people that Christians are good people. These are our most basic, just getting started ideas and we're being shot down at every turn. We want to bring a little heaven into the world expecting nothing in return. Any suggestions for projects that you've tried?

Do Christians use their religion as a mask that allows them to get on with doing nasty things in the everyday world?

Does the term "son of" for Jesus' lineage in Mt 1 and for Peter in Jn 21 allegorically refer to men, who "should repent"; since what God will have is all men repent (Acts 17:30; 1Timothy 2:3,4; 2Peter 3:9), including Son of Man? For when looking at "Jesus" as "Son of Man", we find in Numbers 23:19 the Son of man "should repent". And even when looking at "Jesus" as "Son of God", well, "Jesus" only ascended to the right of a God of plural and divded "heavens" on "high", whereas "Christ" of Jesus->Christ notably ascended higher: to "heaven": "higher than the heavens". And we are exhorted to mark & avoid those who cause "division" (Rom 16:17) and mind not "high" things (Rom 12:16). So are many(deceived by many) only getting "high" on the "Jesus" part of JC when they should be getting higher in the "Christ" part of JC (in him[Christ] there is no law = NO SIN = no death)?

As Christians we are driven to save as many people as we can from the damnation. We also believe that the world is doomed and will end with the second coming of Christ. So... how do we build our HOPE? How do we fight a loosing battle and keep our spirits high? Why don't we just "give up" and quit prolonging the inevitable return of our Christ?
