Satan, although sneeky and coniving, is not very inventive. You can see a lot of similarities in the origins of false beliefs, like Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses and Islam. Satan uses different variations of the same tricks over and over again to render people confused and lost.
Also, most churches in the US have become so watered down it's disgusting. People compromise with what popular culture suggests because they don't have enough faith and simple backbone to not compromise their beliefs.
I agree with you that there are many.
We must be careful to choose a church that teaches Biblicaly sound doctrine.

The apostles that were taught under Jesus preached all the same thing. Peter didn't go preach this, and Mathew go and preach something else. They all were taught one message and one doctrine of belief, which was what should have been taught. The Roman Catholic Church in (I think this is right it's been a long time since I looked this up, may be different years) 325 AD got together and changed some of the belief. The Catholic Church all baptize in the Father, the Son, and The Holy Ghost and so do all the Baptist, Methodist, and other "false christian denominations", but that was not what the apostles preached. They preached that you were to baptize in Jesus name for the remission of sin and you would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38)

Just like satan, they want to be worshiped. A new religion is created quite frequently all in the name of some person, that wants riches, fortune, or fame. Some can't follow the Bible exactly so they start a new religion, and omit that part of the Bible, or say no no that isn't what it means. I know the JW's don't believe in Hell, so maybe the thought of living in Hell made the Bible students start that religion. There is only one way, and I am not saying which way is the right way, except Jesus's way. According to the Bible we aren't to change one word, cross one t wrong, or dot one i wrong. I know that JW's rewrote John 1:1, and I am sure that if you see other Bibles, they will have changed some wordings also.
So how do we know which one is right. I do know that the Torah, and the King James Bible where the first. So we can go from there.

Free will.
God has warned his people of this, false prophets. It is difficult to answer your question when you didn't specify the false religions you speak of.
God allows Satin the run of the earth and he uses people in many ways, false religions, false education, evolution, darwinism, liberalism, and government offices.
He also gives Christians equipment to see the truth, the Holy Spirit, Spiritual Gifts and his Word and the fellowship of other believers with other spiritual gifts such as Discernment, Wisdom and Intercessory prayer.

Its not so much their false, if they preach the gospel its true.. I would sit in any church the preaches christ crucified, and believe that jesus is the ony way.. They only disagree with some passages in scripture, which can be a misunderstanding, or just what they believe the church should be. Some think church should be traditional, while others feel that church should be always changing, and growing.. False denominations is the wrong term..

Some leaders have taken their denominations private. They profit personally, and they glow in the power they have. These denominations usually have more "rules" because when you make rules, you have control. They put words in Jesus' mouth and condemn all kinds of good people.

Ed is entirely correct. ALL christian denominations are based on a falsehood (that there is a god) therefore, ALL christian denominations are false.
Logic always trumps fantasy.
