I am a dedicated pacifist and a Christian, I believe Christ was/is a pacifist. There is one member specifically I am hoping will respond here and hopefully shed some light, but I forgot his user name so I can't go ask him lol. Anyway the question is, since Jesus taught the way of peace, and even in the Old Testament or Torah itself there are teachings of peace, such as in proverbs, my favorite OT book by the way. Why are there so many laws that call people to be put to death? Please no joke answers speaking badly of my faith or saying 'just because' thank you.

Satan always seems to try to mimic or overshadow Gods' plans. Mostly by giving a little of the truth, to get people to accept a bigger lie. Does Islam not fit this pattern ? Its taught as a peaceful religion (to its converts), but teaches murder, oppression, etc. is acceptable against the "Infidel" (unbeliever), The Christian and the Jew, and names them specifically. I have read this in the Quran, and this is not generalized hatred towards another religion without basis.

i have already asked that question but really people are contradicting themselves. In palestine there are high priest who condemn occupation and they also stand up against the Isreal terrorist attacks and also there are some jews who stand against zionism and condemn the state of Isreal because it is an illegal state and should be demolished, so why still some of you people support this horrible state who is blood thirsty....and palestinians are martyres, they defend their land with their soul...can you imagine people kicking you out of your house and killing you and they say this is our land and they got all their army and tanks and their stinky flag..I say they are just as Hitler and the Nazis....and you defend them...man you are blind...all zionist even hate you christians but you have no Idea... they think we are all subhumans..don't you see how palestininian children throwing rocks at the enemy... doesn't that make you wonder...go out their..God's Chosen People... Hezbollah Won...

Is it important enough to you that you tell the world about him and live like he did? Or do you actually just say you're a Christian and don't live it? Or do you live it but not say you're a Christian? Please, explain how important it is to you.

In the Bible, Jesus ministered to the ill, the maimed, the sinners, the adulterers, the impure...the rejects of both Jewish and Roman societies.
In the 21st century, who would you expect Jesus to minister?

I say he would minister to same-sex couples, interracial couples, adulterers, heretics, blasphemers, etc. Why?

2000 + years ago, Jesus ministered to those society rejected. Today, he would minister to those our society rejects.

By the way, Jesus rejected those in power.

Question for christians. Why did God create the universe, all those galaxies and everything and then decide to put humans on a small little planet for eternity? Whats the purpose of all those other galaxies? It doesn't make too much sense.

When I say "read", I mean read and fully comprehend the topic at hand. Not just look at the words, turn the pages and claim it's been read.

Jesus said that it's better to avoid sex. He did. If we love him we should try to follow him. But--weak Christians can marry--because it is better
to burn in hell of passion to marry. But won't you suffer for Christ's sake and resist these evil temptation. Please, if you are single and celibate--avoid masturbation. Repression is sometimes like prayer.
It's self-suffering for the sake of your love for Christ Jesus. He died for you in Cross. You should repay him back.Even if guys are apparently "just using it as a form to release stress". I'm sorry, but God has provided many other ways to relieve stress other then pleasuring yourself sexually. And that's the thing, if you are touching your genitals, you are doing something sexual! And God has made it clear, that REAL purity is not just keeping from sex before marriage, but it is keeping away from anything that is sexually gratifying. The ONLY sexual activity that is alright in God's eyes is for a couple only in marriage. The truth about it is that we dont have the RIGHT to think about sex/watch shows of people having sex/listen to people talking about sex, anything that has to do with sex!!! We dont have that right because we are not married! The only kind of sex that is okay in God's eyes is sex in the marriage bed.

I would make sure that I am restored to God - that He would write me in the Book of Life - so that I would see Him when I wake up in heaven when I go to sleep on earth.

I would live life and enjoy every moment of it; living all my interests and fullfilling my dreams.

I would give all my possessions away.

I would forgive those who need my forgiveness; and make peace with my enemies.

I would make a video recording of my final thoughts to each individual, and leave instructions for them to be distributed to each person.

I would throw my own homegoing party with all my loved ones, that would celebrate my life with a living memorial given by all who knew me and what they remember fondly.

Leading a parade to my mausoleum that would be linked to a fabulous fireworks display, entering the mausoleum, locking the door, I would lie down in my casket, hook up my heart monitor to the switch that would trigger the fireworks show, and when my heart stops, I would die with a bang.

It seems like a "Christian" basically is considered to be one who Loves Christ, accepts Him as their Savior, lives for Him, and lives by their own or their pastors interpretation of the Bible, which means a Christain can be a member of any (of course Christian) church...what have I missed?
I am not bashing anyone, I just want to know.

Those who believe in an afterlife say that everyone else should also. A big part of the argument is that you live in eternal happiness in the afterlife, so surrendering yourself to a higher power is a small price to pay for eternal happiness (point well taken). I have recently been thinking about the other side of the argument as well. If there is no afterlife, how can you put a price on the large volume of time wasted on prayer and worship and everything involved in strong faith, when we are here for SO MINISCULE an amount of time. So I ask you, which is the bigger blunder? Surrendering eternal bliss by failing to committ while in this life?- Or wasting a huge chunk of time, your ONLY TIME YOU'RE EVER GOING TO EXPERIENCE on a complete falsity (basically doing the exact opposite of "Carpe Diem"- one of my favorite sayings!). This has been bothering me endlessly and I have my thoughts, what are yours?

Christianity justifies being whipped (in the name of Christ). Christianity does not justify whipping others (in the name of Christ).

Too few Christians understand true humility.
