Evolving is a sin. God made you with love and created you to be completely unique - different in a way that no one else is. To attempt to change that is to go against God's desire for you to be the best that you can be for His sake. Only someone who hates God, desires His creation to be changed so that there is no longer any reference to Him or His intentions.

My mom said a prayer for my father in law at church. The pastor (after praying for him) told my mom that god had spoke to him. He told my mom that my father in law will be responding in 3 days and that one day he will rise and walk and preach how God saved him. To have faith in God because God has spoken.

My father in law is in a nursing home because of a fall he had a few months ago. He had brain surgery done and was in the hospital prior to the nursing home. He has delicate bed sores that cant be treated due to other conditions. Doctors have given him 6months to a year.

I dont know how to feel. I want to believe my father in law will get through this. When my mom called and told us what the pastor had said I did feel it, that faith feeling. That was last night. Since then my father in law has had 103 fever and he's bed sores are worse he still hasnt responded or in any way showing any signs of improvement.

Can god really speak through someone?

Hey, brother! Both being Celibate and being married are gifts from God. I know it's not easy as a young man to abstain from sexual activity. It becomes harder when all of your friends and associates are having sex outside of marriage.
DARE TO BE DIFFERENT. Things don't get any easier, but our God is strong. Every time you feel tempted even just to look at a girl in a derogitary way, start reciting Scripture out loud!! There is nothing that scares the devil more than a Spirit-filled Believer reciting God's Word.

If winning friends and influencing people by pretending to be religious helped you to position yourself to do the greatest good (in the quickest time), would you submit your common sense (as far as is necessary to pretend) to your sympathy for some weak-minded people who use religion as a crutch?

Is there something wrong with pretending to be religious if you're trying to help people? I mean I could quote the Bible/Qur'an/Bhagavad Gita ad nauseam by quoting selectively and use that to persuade people to buy into my benevolent sensibilties/

Or I could take the long route and use reason and logic, which while seemingly intellectually honest might not ever work as well as the fear of hell or temptations of heaven.

I sometimes wonder , if wheter or not , it is good for a christian to read the bible, or just let the church or the religious organization decides of what he has to believe ...Because of so many interpretations of the bible verses, the bible can become a dangerous book and a book of confusion or many ..because its religious organization gives their interpretation of a passage ..isn't it better to just trust in the religious organization rather than the bible directly ?

The Q asked above is the headline Q.
Here is the full, properly worded Q that I wanted to ask but couldn't because it wouldn't fit in the Q-box : If pregnant women are unable or unwilling to birth or raise the child in them, should our government step in and compel the women to give birth and then later take the children away from them(to be raised by someone else)?

John Paul too declared the Shroud of Turin a medieval Hoax after allowing it to be carbon-dated and he refused to tell the World that the Gospels described two shrouds found in the tomb of Joseph where before no man was laid, and that one was used to wrap the head and the other, the shape of the body, of course, in a fake Jewish burial where 100 lbs. of aloes and myrrh was used to create the appearance of a burial and to fake the cover-up of any smell that is associated with a burial, but the poor man died and went to the catacombs with his secret. or so he may have thought.

Dont you think it is time that Benedict 14 dismantle the Hoax of Christianity and free John Paul ii from the guilt of deceit?

Will Benedict 14, the Pope and wannabe Superstar, be honest with the people of the World, and with all those millions of Jesus freaks, especially?

There appears to be a slight controversy over whether one enters heaven immediately after death (a soul departs the body and goes to heaven) or if the body rises up again in the last days (corporeal resurrection). The Bible kind of hints at both of scenarios. Which do you think will happen to you, to your relatives, etc.?

I find it ironic that although Athiests believe themselves free to do whatever they want with their lives and have nothing and no one to answer to, why do they spend so much time hanging around the Religious forum? Go watch some basketball, read a book, enter the Science forum...but why so many spend all their time trying to prove everyone else wrong? Who are you really trying to convince? When you believe in something strongly, you fight for it, you search for knowledge, you'll never change your mind...But if you just really really DONT believe in something, why even bother? It's like trying to argue with the zoo keeper that Giraffes don't exist. Quit waisting your time. Fight for something you do believe in, not something you DONT.

a asked 2 questions
the first was about why the catholics do not allow women to be priest one of the answers included this:
1 Cor. 14:34-35 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."

i asked the second question about what % of the bible is the real word of god. it seems half of the people say the bible is 100% god's word
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmK45rKfpsgDxHb.OAO9UbHsy6IX?qid=20060815144937AAaUXSl
so those people in the second qustion who think it is all gods word/will why do you not speek out against women speaking in the church?
turn away from your evil ways and follow god and not what man has wrote for him

I'm looking for a website where you can ask questions and post them for other people to answer, sort of like a message board. It would really be awesome too if on this website you could maybe choose a 'best' answer and possibly even vote on other people's answers.

Unfortunately, I don't think a website like that exists...

so i've seen this come up in everyone's answers, that being gay "is a choice because you choose whether or not to act on the attraction." how many straight people choose whether or not to act on their attractions? and can they say no to an attraction for the rest of their lives? what if it's a god-given attraction? i was unlucky in love for many years and prayed to God for someone to be with. I'm a woman and the person who showed up in my life (just a day later) is also a woman. so, hey... i acted on it.
