I would say worse because you are a hypocrite. I know some atheists and they are the most kind loving and caring people.

Dear Judaspriest: They just haven't learned anything yet. We can sit in the Presence and be very "dense" about the lessons. But we are sitting there. . .for some reason. What is that. . .? That propels us to be there. The family demands it? The neighbors in your yard expect it? If that is why you sit there every Sunday - nothing at all will happen.

Know the Creator is working through someone by their actions. It may be those who are the "least among us!" And it can be those with influence. You never know who. . ..

If you lie, cheat, steal and then go to Church, you're not better than anyone. Your Connection is turned off. The juice isn't there. Self-interest is not what the great teachers of the world teach.

Look at how Grace shows on faces that never attend Church. Then notice some - who have that glow in their smile and can be trusted the full mile - who attend. It's in the individual.

I'm looking at your picture again. You are going to outgrow this -aren't you? I would so much like to see the real you.

Definately not.. Why? Because Lying, cheating and stealing are all things that people of no morals do.. I am an atheist and I have never done any of those things you have said.. The fact you go to church means nothing as having morals has nothing to do with the church.. If your morals are based on religion.. What sort of a person are you to only do good for the reward at the end, Heaven?

No you're not better. Going to church does not make you a Christian and you must not be if you are doing all those things.
So what is the point of you going to church, anyway. Surely you get bored. Atheist's are human just like everybody else. Some of them do those things and some of them do not. They are at least not being a hypocrite.
On the other hand, I really have no business judging you, either. Sorry, your question just upset me.

Most organized religions that are considered Judeao/Christian sects or Islamic sects would say yes as long as you repent and or ask for forgiveness while you are at church. The religions of the east, Taoism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confucianism which are not religions that worship a supreme being, but rather are focused on how a person lives, would say no.

ah.....
Going to church each week means nothing. The creator...higher power, aka God doesn't keep track of church attendence. What matters is whats in a persons heart and soul.

I assume you are an athiest. If so, why do you spend your time questioning good vs bad vs God vs No God?.
You have some major questions on your mind and heart. I think it is good for you to question so that you can feel peace in your heart one way or another.

I wouldn't say that you are better than an atheist you are probably just as bad as one or worse.

1. If you have a habitual patten of sinning, chances are you don't know God.
Who so ever abides in God sins not; who so ever sins has not seen God , neither does he know God. 1 John 3:6

2. Just sitting in a church week after week does not make you a Christian. You have to make a profession of faith and accept Jesus into you heart.

Well, if you do these things consistently, you'd really have to wonder of you are in the faith. Here's why:

"You know that wicked people will not inherit the kingdom of God, don't you? Stop deceiving yourselves! Sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunks, slanderers, and robbers will not inherit the kingdom of God." (I Corinthians 6:9-10)

If you used to do those things, better promises are there for you in the verse immediately following:

"That is what some of you were! But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." (verse 11)

But, an unrepentant church-goer needs to do this:

"Keep examining yourselves to see whether you are continuing in the faith. Test yourselves! You know, do not you, that Jesus Christ lives in you? Could it be that you are failing the test?" (II Corinthians 13:8)

Otherwise, this is what awaits the unrepentant sinner:

"But people who are cowardly, unfaithful, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

no...not if the athiest is a better person. going to church doesn't make you better than someone who by the standards of some is 'going to hell'. i've seen people who go with the type of crap when they themselves aren't very nice people- and it's not just stealing and committing crimes. it can involve not being nice to others as well. in that sense, no one person's religion makes them better than the other.

Actually you are worse than an atheist, you supposedly believe and if you are doing this then you are laughing in God's face. A Christian is suppose to be an example to others, how can we justify serving a supreme being, if we go to church, and then act like that. That is an abomination to the Christian faith.
